You should ALWAYS carry spare air filter, ac filter, brake pads, wiper set.

Since this was a brand new car and only 4000 km and 3 months old, I skipped those. But yes even realised later, that brake pad and air filters should have been good backup. Luckily did not require them this time.

Have a safe trip, you can additionally plan to take 1. AD BLUE (if BS6 engine) 2. Aiir filter, etc 3. Most importantly - Snow strap, as this season it will be snowing Take care of black ice and drive safe !!

Not sure, but the permit is mostly checked by Local police in normal check points and defence in special areas. Better to get this permit done if defence personnel are visiting ladakh as a tourist.

Not sure. We kept them vertical and they were inside luggage. In atal tunnel entry they checked our bags but superficially so did not notice. We knew open petrol is not allowed inside the atal tunnel so filled it after crossing it.
