Being a fire fighter myself, this movie really hits home. I get choked up at the end, every time. And I've seen it a million times. Never forget those military, law enforcement, and fire fighter men and women that gave their lives to save others.

Ladder 49 was the second firefighter movie I've seen with a funeral at the end (the first was Backdraft). While both endings are sad, they highlight the brotherly and family bonds that firefighters have and show the importance of moving on while still remembering the fallen.

I have always wanted to be a firefighter when I was a kid and that was 25 years ago. After this movie that I saw, I went for it, and now I have made it into the fire training and now I can tell everyone, I'M a FIREFIGHTER. I'm so proud to be one and love everything so far and will love more. The best job in the world.

It is always sad when both police and fire personnel die in the line of duty. I know that both Ladder 49 and Backdraft are movies but that is portrayal of our everyday heroes doing their amazing jobs. God Bless our heroes

To date, Ladder 49 is one of two movies ive ever shed tears for, because it hits so close to home for me (like im sure it does for lots of other firefighters) Belive me, its a hundred times worse if youre there for a firefighters funeral.

this movie gives a impression how the it is to be a fire fighter, we lost a couple years ago a fire fighter that was a time that we not wil forget its difficult to stand by a flag that is half stick but it is the symbol and the honour for a colleague and tribute for the family

Oh yes, I'm very familiar with the flaws in Backdraft (I'm a volunteer firefighter). Still, I think it's a good movie plotwise, and it's one of the movies that got me into firefighting.

My dad is also a firefighter in holland and if you hear sometimes those story's then you think: We need to happy with this kind of people because not everybody has so mutch balls to risk there lives for someone else . So thumps up for those man and woman that risk there lives to save someone else live

@reminiscer152 жыл бұрын
Yep same here, although I can tell some clips were actually used earlier in the film plus some extra footage that didn't make the cut. Also a couple times you can actually briefly see Jack in the clips that show them responding after the funeral, editing error which is common.

I've been to a firefighter funeral, and i must say, that is the most realistic, 'reenactment' if you want to call it that, of a firefighter funeral I want to thank all firefighters out there for their service, and after losing a firefighter friend in a fire, I look up to even more. RIP to any LODDs out there

This was a good movie, IMO would've been even better if it had a different ending. It's a good reminder how dangerous that job can be and what could happen to my husband. The family of four in this movie is eerily similar to mine. My son & daughter are close to the same age as the kids in the movie.
