So, for background here, I'm starting from probably a much lower skill level than a lot of other commenters. "Best in my group of casuals" sort of deal. I had really enjoyed ZSS in Brawl, PM, and 4 but had a lot of trouble with her in Ultimate. I always felt like I was struggling to keep up with the character rather than controlling her. With that said I just want you to know that simply watching through your tutorials made a huge difference for someone of my skill level. Coming at it from a more solid foundation of theory both in terms of frame data and generally knowing what she's capable of brought me from going losing about 50/50 with my friend group all the way to 2-stocking most matches. We had a six hour session and I felt comfortable with her the entire time. Of course, now they don't want me to play her but that's beside the point. Thanks for putting so much into these videos. They've really brought my favorite fighter back onto my roster.

For the frame perfect ladder, you can IDJ the first jump to give you a few more frames to get the second hit. It's still true, tested it in training.

Will you ever make a ladder combo video on other legal stages? Like yoshis story, Pokémon stadium 2, or even fd? Also I love your vids keep up the good work

Possibly, but it’s difficult to practice them in training because there’s no such thing as hazards-off training (blame Sakurai). These exercises will still help a lot for ladder combos on those stages though.

STAWBs Orio Thats what I was worried about haha. I would almost never practice on fd or battlefield if there could be hazards off training. Just wondering though. Your still my favorite youtuber 😆

On PS2 and Kalos you have quite a decent bit of time before the transformations, and the platforms in Lylat and YS are pretty much the same height as PS2, so it's not really that bad to train. Lylat gets weird with slanted plats though.

You can definitely still take stocks using ladder combos on FD. When your opponent is on the ground at around 40%, you can do the following: [Nair (unspaced) > Nair (unspaced) > Fullhop Buffered Up Air > Double Jump Up Air > Up B] [Nair > Short Hop Fastfall Rising Up Air > Fullhop Buffered Up Air > Double Jump Up Air > Up B] There are a few other ones but these are the main ones that I know and use regularly. It's important to note that when your opponent is at low / mid percents, you can often just string together up to 3 or 4 fastfalled up airs in order to get them to the right percent for a ladder KO finisher (I normally just do Fullhop Buffered Up Air > Double Jump Up Air > Up B). Also the percent windows in which these will take stocks can be fairly strict especially on heavier characters such as Piranha Plant, but on most midweights they should work very reliably.

Can someone help me out? On the first (updated) combo he shows I cant get the first hit of boost kick. I feel that I am doing everything right as the combo meter says its a true combo until the boost kick. I dont know what’s happening. PLS, i need help.

The most likely cause of this is you hitting the final up air slightly too late in the double jump. You need to hit the opponent as low and early into the DJ as possible.

What makes ladder combo difficult is that you pretty much have to improvise them according to where the opponent is and the percentage he is at.

The first combo you talk about (around 1:28) isn't simple at all.. the timing of the first double jump is weird (must be delayed a bit?). However the others might be as hard or even more, who knows. And the last one, you don't need to necessarily turn around before the up airs for it to be true.

Some tips for the Frame perfect Uair on PS2 if you struggle to land the 2nd Uair, you have to get as close as possible to Marth The Uair have 3 hitboxes so you guess it, the 2 far hitboxes don't hit Marth This is due to the height where Marth is after the first Uair, and also to his stun animation You can successfully hit Marth only with the closest hitbox, (which is located on her hips, center of her body) Also, the combo is true on frame 3 air dodge at 35% BUT at 40%, if Marth air dodge, his air dodge animation stop his stun animation and you can no longer hit him Again, this is due to his air dodge animation, since you usually hit the feet of Marth on the 2nd Uair (his animation move his feet to the right so you can no longer hit him :( Fortunately you can punish the dodge with a drop platform landing Uair And if your opponent miss the dodge, the rest of the combo work Also, the easy alternative of the combo, if you are stressed or not confident to make it Just Uair > Double jump Uair > UpB Stil do 30% and kill on neutral and in DI (but most of the tme your opponent will survive)

1:34 Is this IDJ done over the platform, after ZSS put her feet on it? Because in the video it seems that you're just doing a double jump when you are about the platform height but you're saying it's an IDJ.

Try slightly varying the timing between your jumps. A lot will depend on the exact percentage and the character you’re against.

I literally can't even do the first combo past fast fall uair under the play. my follow up double jump uair misses marth 90% of the time and the visual shows it coming out the same place as the video. Ugh

I think it's because you do the double jump too soon. You have ti find the right balance between not double jumping too soon to gain enough height and not to late because the up air will miss your opponent because you are to high.

Yes, the last one will. A boost kick from double jump height on the top platform of BF will always KO.

Can you tell me how you perform the Ladder combos? I use a Gamecube Controller, and use the right shoulder button to jump, and the c stick to flick, but somehow, I have the feeling the shoulder button is not consistent

I use the shoulder button myself, but I got a pro controller specifically because the shoulder button were better.
