@@johnmartinez7440John Mulaney had a joke about this introduction (kzbin.info/www/bejne/m4jVfJlrntBkn5Ysi=ymlsVS7Zw5i8cASB&t=51 ) in which he said that Sir Patrick Stewart introduced Peppa with more enthusiasm than with Salt. I saw this show when it first aired and I remembered it in much the same way as John Mulaney (with a bit less hyperbole), but I also hadn't seen it again until now. The initial impact of that moment definitely became more exaggerated in my memory--but it's still pretty funny.

Yes, Mulaney's bit is kind of characterization but I feel a good one as he includes Stewart's stage acting in it. Harmless fun. I imagine being there in moment and hearing it live would have been vastly different as I'm sure the broadcast attenuated his volume and live would be much more dynamic.

I think was my favorite episode of SNL. It had Mike Meyers with "if it's not scottish, ITS CRAP!" It had PStewart as Capt Stubing in a Love Boat/Star Trek mashup skit. It had Stewart as an owner of an erotic cake shop that made only cakes shaped like women peeing. And it had the most bizarre skit with Stewart as Satan and Norm Macdonald as a devil underling that I can't put into words.

I don't understand people critiquing John Mulaney's recount of this. It sounds just as exciting as he described it. If not moreso.
