Hello from Australia. Thanks Jamie...much appreciation your way. Every time I see this movie it cheers me up. I have just subscribed after wanting to go on a Marilyn Monroe movie week....I adore her...and to my surprise I found all the MM movies I wanted to watch of hers on your site. Makes it so easy for me now. So many thanks again for doing all the hard work and know that their are lots of us who are grateful. :)

Beautiful movie, as a wise woman once said “if women can’t respect women how would be expect men to respect women?”

Never saw this movie of Marilyn Monroe before. Absolutely love it!💖

Love the song at the end "You're never too old until you're put away"... should be used more often now we're in a time where ageism is on the increase.
@baylorsailor2 ай бұрын
Why do you think Ageism is worse now than it was then? It's completely the opposite actually. Women were once considered Spinsters by the age of 25 if they weren't married. For centuries it was that way. You wouldn't hear anybody say that about women today, at least not openly.
@baylorsailor2 ай бұрын
P.S. - Unless you're referring to Hollywood and the entertainment industry. They have a serious problem with ageism within their small population.

The flashback of her Mom young but yet it’s still the 1940’s in the past AND present day😂

Low budget, of course.

I know in the flashback, I was expecting them to be dressed in the 1920's fashion and doing the Charleston.

@@laradavenport903 also, *1920s* fashion, especially for women, was seen as passé/dorky in the *1940s.* Audiences would have laughed instead of sympathized with the mother character. For instance, the big budget *_"Margie"_* (1946) with *Jeanne Crain* and *_"Good News"_* (1947) with *June Allyson* both supposedly take place in the *'20s,* but all of the women look contemporary.

What a charming movie, short and sweet. Marilyn is fine but I love Adele Jergens in it too.

Entertaining but far fetched. Still, it took place in 1948. Must say I was shocked for Jergens playing Monroe's mother when there were only about 10 years apart in ages. The guy playing Monroe's interest looked much too old for her. Oh well, a fun movie.

Hold up! Huge Marilyn fan, I've never seen this one but it looks like this predates her plastic surgery. Also, this is the best I've ever heard her sing. Almost like later she was coached to do the wrong thing. 🤔
@Jamie_Kerkhof3 жыл бұрын
Thanks for watching! Yeah, this definitley is one of Marilyn's earlier movies, so big chance it was before her plastic surgery. I was lucky to get this one on DVD. Also, you're right, Marilyn's singing was amazing in this movie. Who knows. Hollywood has a way with controlling people.

A self-published memoir by Beverly Hills plastic surgeon Norman Leaf in 2010 claimed that Monroe underwent cosmetic surgery on her chin in 1950, citing the same notes made by Gurdin, Leaf's medical partner. Leaf also states in his memoir that Monroe underwent a slight rhinoplasty procedure on the tip of her nose.

@@Thombierdz she didn’t need any surgery in my opinion. Thanks for the info.

Jamie is this film too short??? Only 57 minutes 49 seconds???
@Jamie_Kerkhof Жыл бұрын
Haha I know, this movie is way to short. I believe it has to to do with them having a small budget to shoot the film.
