This is soooooo true ladies. I recently started seeing someone...after 5 years of not dating!!! We talked every day, for at least 3 hours! He poured his heart out, as did I! We both have a very, very strong relationship with God! We both agreed our love for God has to take center stage! Then all of a sudden...I did not hear from him! The old younger me would have chased! Instead, I gave it to the Lord. I was looking up at the moon one night and said, "Lord, why?" In my spirit, God said, "Be still...and know that I am God." That was all I needed to know. Three days pasted and he called! He said, he was not looking for love when we met. I said I was not either. He said, he was getting scared! He said,"I have never felt this way, I do not want to loose you." We talked and talked and talked. Bottom line, Allyson is right! If your man is pulling away...let him! Absolutely, Keith! I'm a little disgruntled over this topic. I was a faithful Christian and while other girls were out partying or with their boyfriends, I was home waiting for my man to find me. I was an old spinster at my church. I was 27 years old and had never had a boyfriend. I'd had a longtime crush on my brother's friend. One day I let him know in a round about way that I'd had a crush on him. We started dating and in November we'll have been married 18 years! I told God I didn't want to date anymore, I wanted a husband, a man brave enough to pursue me and who would want to stay with me forever. Christian young man here, 25 years old. While I was watching the video and listening to the arguments presented, I felt the need to explain this from a male (christian male) perspective. There is a serious problem in today's society with the male-female social dynamic and the current christian dating scene is, in my opinion, a reflection of that dynamic. With all due respect to my sisters here, we need to be honest and say that women are hypergamous and indeed attracted to a man's socioeconomic status and physical appearance ( not blaming you or anything for this, it just is what it is) and even though one cannot fully judge another's status or resources correctly, there are certain behavioral cues that indicate status, or value. Chasing somebody is, unfortunately, a clear sign of lesser value or status and as such women are repulsed by this behavior. I'm not taking about obsessive or needy-style chasing, but just normal approach,texting, whatever, usually christian women do not like this style, as it is, in their own words- too direct. Some may like it,true, but unless you show a clear sign (or set of signs) of social dominance and high status as a man, you are just wasting your time,energy and most likely money. That is what most christian men(from my place of living) feel at this point. I'd like to point out that this is not an attack or vent of rage,hate and frustration, but rather what I hope is an objective and insightful analysis of the situation that most people in christian social circles talk about. Also, I'm not some sort of an ugly loser typing this from whatever emotionally immature reason. I'm 6'1 ft tall, athletically build from years of hard training, full head of hair, not a bad face, I have a lot of friends and a college degree and a good sense of humor(others say). chetaioo AND most churches have a disparate proportion of more women to men. I’ve seen men in churches work that angle flirting and leading on as well as acting inappropriately. In one church service a married man with his beautiful wife holding his baby next to him turned to stare at me in a suggestive manner for 10 minutes. OR my favourite as soon as a single woman steps through the door getting followed about by unwanted males, harassed every time you go to church etc etc. Add to that social predators disguised as Christians (Religious Narcissists etc) who’s God told they would marry you, or the plain old unsaved who are not saved but want a Christian other. What a great message! I'm single, 36 years old, never been married, and never had any children. Everyone has told me that I'm such a great catch but always asked me why I haven't found anyone. The answer to that would always be "I don't need anyone" I was lying, I do care. (lol). I never liked listening to sermons about "One day you will find the right one", it just made me even sadder. Lol. Then one day something tragic happened to my family 3 years ago, my sister passed away and I became a mother to my 2 year old (now 5 yrs old) nephew. My heart changed and the way I see life has changed for the better. I trusted Jesus more than ever before, my faith became unshakable and my spiritual relationship with Jesus has been life changing. Yes I still get sad sometimes (I'm only human) but God knows what he is doing. I say a prayer and ask God to help me not to focus finding a man but focus on His word more than ever, trust me it helps. I have no idea when I'll get married or maybe I never will but let me put it this way.......One day we will all stand before God and he will see what our hearts desired on this earth. I was truly inspired in church a little while back; we have a reasonably small church (by Australian standards; maybe 80-120 regulars at morning church) and I feel we have a real family and community. One of the older couples would soon be celebrating their 50th wedding anniversary (I think it was 50th) and as the man was speaking briefly about it, he said "In a real relationship, there's never two people. I've always felt there was a third and that third is God," I just think this is so true. It makes me sad when I see hollow relationships. Brandy Dawn it's a faith walk. Like I said, I'm speaking from experience. He told me several times of who wasn't the one. At the time I didn't understand but later, things were revealed that confirmed God was "looking out." He loves us so He doesn't want us to be with someone who will hurt us! I think it's good/helpful to bring the one who you are interested in to trusted pastors/leaders in the church so they can evaluate him/her and go to God about that person. Marriage is not the answer to feelings of emptiness. God is to be the fulfillment. No one can fill you up and make life all better who is a human.Marriage was never designed around romantic love. It was a contract, usually arranged by parents. Romantic love and that “l’m so in love” magical feeling lasts approximately 48 months. There are about 5% of couples lucky enough to retain that for a lifetime. For the rest it becomes a lot of effort and can add to your heartache. If you don’t get your needs met by God and a host of a variety of life’s joys and hobbies- you will be disappointed in married life. Live your life fully with or without a spouse. If you meet a good partner great, if not- so be it. The goal is to be one with God and if you want to marry, pray for a spouse. Just know, that like everything in life- a new car, new clothes, new stuff- the magic wears off and you must have fulfillment through spirituality that renews first. Otherwise, if you marry and times get tough you might not have the skills to travel through that. The laws are biased and a man has to be insane to get married under such circumstances, they prefer their freedom rather getting a gun pointed at their head by the government for legally signing the castration contract (marriage papers). Try to arrange a live-in together set up with a decent guy, you both will work and split the bill and live your life. But ofcourse pray to God first if you are thinking of going in this direction.

I have met my husband.I had to pursue him.He had just lost his mom and was in alot of pain.You cant make a blanket statement for everyone.It took him a while to realize that I love him and will walk with him through the pain.

Im 34 second divorce. I will try to wait but feel time is out. I want a family and have no children yet. Im distrubed at myself, i tend to pursue relationships based on intense attraction. I suggest a life coach. There may be something wrong you are not aware of and it has nothing to do with waiting in faith. I had the same thoughts as you, Had faith God would bring her, never happened! I am 61 one now. get help while you are still young. I wanted to get married when I was 22. You do have an issue that you are not attracted to nice guys! You need to find out why!!!! or you will never change and end up settling for an abusive man. Christina Gurrola real love is not about fireworks because it comes softly. You have the wrong perception because you are controlled by your flesh which tells you what your type is which in all truth is of no profit to you on a whole that is why those relationships keep failing. Because of this wrong attitude, you attract the wrong men who are no good for you. It's time you shift your mindset and let God supply what you need because life ain't about wants but is about having what need to be happy and healthy in fulfilling the plan of God. Stop running after man and putting your trust in dating apps when your should be trusting God to supply what you need in his time not yours. The right one will show up when you are good and ready not when you are broken.
