Being an effeminate boy (I still feel uncomfortable to call myself or be called a "man" at over 25) who has spent 6 years in boys' hostel, I can entirely relate to this story. I think I shouldn't tell how diabolic my experiences have been in the hostel apart from my total lack of male friends. Those horrific memories, those traumatic days are powerful enough to still haunt me whenever I think about them. Boys are worse with girlish boys than girls are with tomboyish girls. The few friends I had and still have are all girls. I am gay which I revealed to some of the girls. None of them had a problem and they remained the same with me as before besides keeping my secret. The only laughter, the only smiling moments I had were because of the amazing girls. Some of the girls used to even tell the boys that they should not treat me like that and that it was mean and unfair. What would happen to me and boys like me if there were no girls? Thanks to God for creating compassionate, kind, sympathetic, empathetic women! I think girls don't tease tomboyish girls as opposed to what is shown in the video. Because we had a girl who was slightly tomboyish, but no girl used to tease her. The hostel boys used to tell me how to talk, walk, sit, behave and act. They used to say I should be sent to girls' hostel. They would tease me with my roommate as his wife. Can you imagine? After leaving college, I got to hear from someone how some of the boys suggested that I should be given some slaps after which I'd behave like a man. I get to hear the same things from my mother and aunts. I like cooking which my mother gets mad at. My life has never been easy. In my school days too I had no company of boys. Now I have no one to celebrate happiness, to go out for a movie and to share sadness with. I don't know what will happen. My mother asks why I don't keep terms with boys. As if I don't want, but which boy will accept me?

Your story reminded me of a boy who used to live in our old neighborhood. He was very girly and used to wear his moms dupatta as saree & her heels & pretend to be a teacher. I was a kid too back then. Now since there is more awareness I sometimes wonder what happened of him. He was good at studies too. I can only imagine how hard it must be for you especially in Indian society. Just because others not understand you doesn't mean you're wrong. You're not harming anyone. You are just being yourself. It will take time for Indian mindset to change. Meanwhile find a support group. You already have amazing friends. There are many Indian LGBT groups on social media such as Facebook. I wish you well. Please never feel that you're alone. 💕

@@pankhurigoyal234 I am really hopeful of those benevolent, tolerant and liberal people who are aware, educated, humane and kind. I think this section of people are more in the elite society like Bollywood because virtually all the leading Bollywood stars welcomed the SC decision to decriminalise same-sex love so warmly. Unfortunately, only a few people can reach that level. But you kindly keep up your goodness because there are very less people like you and you people are the only hope of tomboyish girls and girlish boys like me.
@gouranganeog60355 жыл бұрын
@@geek7227 your kind words are heartwarming. Thank you. Please keep up the goodness of your heart. I also used to make ponytails in my earliest childhood days and even went to my very first school classes like that. I'd wear my elder sister's heels and I once asked my aunt to buy me a frock. Now I may not want to wear women's clothes but the girlish traits have remained in me. They keep telling me to change myself but they don't realise that a person's most basic nature cannot change. Like you said I haven't done any harm to anyone to treat me like this. I am also okay with people, esp boys not liking me because everyone's choices are different. What's not right is troubling and misbehaving with a person they don't like without anything been done to them. I mean if they don't like me, they should just stay away from me like they always do, but who do they mentally and emotionally torture me? Yes, there are people like me on Facebook, but they are difficult reach at the same time. Still, they are my only means. This world needs more people like you.🙏

@@rajnirao7203 I agree.Living by one's own choice is never easy.That is why we respect people who make good positive choice and live by them. But its wise to spend time to decide if those choices they make are good or not.These kind of fights,discussions,talks,even comments that we are sharing come handy in knowing and dealing with tough times in the choices we make and to understand if they are good choices or not. The sister in the video is very helpful and sweet.
@rajnirao72035 жыл бұрын
Kiran K S its difficult to understand the choices made to live differently are good or bad . As u say , the comments tell us a lot .. from comments on this video .. one can see that its only sympathy is extended . At personal level there is only loneliness . The problem is much deeper . Men dont want any responsibility at one side , women becoming independent is viewed as extra income at other side , the freedom to women is given upto certain point by constantly praising / supporting her to achieve some goals ... men are becoming more of men simply because of anger , comparison , loss of jobs , poor mentality ...n so on . At a much higher level , even men are lonely . What is the use of maintaining and living by choice , breaks somebody at peak , after seggregating " likes" and " dislikes" ..by forced acceptance of " disliked" . Or , the person becomes so cut off , that he/ she doesnot know how to connect with people ..or..he/she become tired .. reaches peak of age .. without energy ..only to repent ..having not learnt anything . In this story , sister was modern , educated but learnt cooking as woman's basic duty . In case , her husband is too dominating or useless type , she can go seperate . .and still be happy . A total uneducated , poor girl , if she wants a breakthrough through sports is understandable .

@@rajnirao7203 True. But this is not for everyone.This is for those who deliberately want to be like Tom Boy - for them the sacrifices don't matter much ideally, I think.Beyond that its about one's life - cooking is different from dressing like a woman and liking jewellery,make up ,etc.
@kiranks98555 жыл бұрын
@@rajnirao7203 There are men who want to explore the sensuality of dressing up like women - they are cross dressers.Thats not an anormality,thats just pecularity. Similarly,dressing as tom boy is a choice to be different.Its not that serious but why judge even men who are crossdressers. Its about opening up about our minds to greater truths to accept different kinds of people in world.Not everyone need to be same.And most women behave like women but there are many differences among women themselves even when they all dress up and behave like regular women.

I am happy to know that people will understand that we are just tomboy not a person who is accidently became a girl. Just loved the video 😊😁😀😀😇😇😍😍😘😘

I am tomboy and I always did what I wanted... actually now it seems funny to me that I never even realised that girls are sth different bcz my mom always wanted to make me competitive and be the best and she treated me and my bro in exactly same way...when I grew up and was in 8th and changed my school I told my mom that girls don't talk to me much even after a year and boys too always wanted to make me feel embarrassed in front of teacher then my mom told me that don't let that affect urself...just be yourself and don't do anything bad for others.....My mom is a pure feminist so fortunately being tomboy didn't affect me much....but outside home I sometimes used to get affected but later on learnt to ignore those people

I can relate to it at so many levels. I still remember I used to play cricket ....I was a leg spinner ..Shane warne was kinda my idol. I also used to do wicket-keeping quite well. But after class nine my parents forbid me to play with guys in the park. And I stopped playing.....I'm 25 now and I still regret why I stopped playing.

In a world that is so confining and limiting, a video like this is the need of the hour, well written, well executed and well, perfect. Thanks, blush for making just another tomboy, feel welcomed. Cheers!

Being a tomboy throughout my life i can relate to this totally!! Though I have a medium length hair now, i never feel myself in the skin of other 'typical' (as if there's anything like this!) girls who like to wear makeup and girly attires. Yes, i am different, and so there are hundreds and thousands of ppl are as well, but I am heavenly comfortable in being what I am. My in-laws have had a bit tough time to accept my 'less girly' attitudes but thankfully, they're in terms with the fact that Snickers suit better in my feet than a pair of stiletto. Thanks to the team for making a film on this issue.

I wish this video reaches every person out there in India and Abroad, those who define the things for both women in men. And if someone else does something else or unconventional they find it strange. Whosoever is like that, you can definitely change, because if you'll live with these boundaries and prejudices, you'll not be able to explore the real world and it's beauty. Stand. Change. Never let your dreams go. Do. Whatever. You. Want. To. Do Thank you so much Blush for such an empowering video. I could totally relate as a cricket player. But I love what I play.

I love this video as I am just like Anshul .. I didn't like make up, painting my nails and also don't like to wear girly clothes. I always love being dressed like a boy and I'm proud of that. I don't care what people think. I only know that when I am with my friends especially with girls they all feel safe and happy with me. Just wanna say do what you makes happy ... Thank you for posting such a nice video.
