RUMINATIONS: Now here’s one that caused some friction. Not so much in the comments section (though a few people did agree with the sentiments) but rather from Iron Liz. She and I were together at the time and we vehemently disagreed about this comic. I do see her point of view and at the time tried to link people towards her alternate take on it, but sadly that video has been lost to Blip purges. More or less the deal there is that she felt it was a story of a guy coming to terms with his newfound sexuality and gender identity, especially since Lady Gaga has been vocal in her efforts to help LGBT.
I am all for that… I just don’t agree with that interpretation of the comic. Regardless of the creators’ intentions, the actual presentation leaves a lot to be desired. Aside from the artwork itself just frankly being hard to look at and with terrible color choices and a fairly unappealing protagonist, the writing is off the wall. It seems less like a man coming to terms with previously-unexplored parts of himself and more an obsessed fan having dangerous fantasies about Lady Gaga and then disturbing others. I am all for expressions of pride… except he wasn’t expressing pride - he was blasting unwanted music at people who were trying to do other activities, disturbing them, and ignoring their polite requests to stop. In the end, he’s not celebrated by Lady Gaga for recognizing his own individuality, but because he’s WEIRD, abnormal, etc. To me, that’s not acceptance - that’s just giving him money to be “part of the freak show,” so to speak.
However, that’s of course JUST my own interpretation and people are free to have their own, just as long as they’re respectful of others.
The only other thing to note with this episode is the brief thing with Spoony at the end. And yes, while I was still a long ways away from ending the Entity arc, I was deliberately planting the seeds of the Gunslinger arc and Linkara’s increasingly douchey behavior.

You know, I personally find the thing with Spoony at the end to be entirely justified. Spoony appeared out of nowhere just to be a jackass and mock Linkara for his taste in music. Linkara responded in kind by shutting down Spoony's douchey ways with the spaceship. It seems fine to me.

No.. The book is supposed/trying and failing to be thought provoking and deals with themes like obession, mental health and sexual orientation. I'm really not sure who passed this or who it was made for. But it's not done well and I can understand why it gets so much hate.

That part of the head swap that you kept screaming about is just the guy taking Lady Gaga's place. In the Paparazzi music video there is a guy that pushes gaga and she begins to fall. That aside, this comic was an unintentional submission that occurred while the author was drunk.

Actually, that's kind of a weird contrast..... This comic sucks and Lady Gaga at the end can either be the real person or something from the main character's delusion. Think how awesome it would be if that Lady Gaga at the end was really the guy four years later in a mental ward seeing the guards on their break looking up that old vid. Kind of interesting. But then, we have Spoony just pop in at the last minute for this video showing that last second cameos can be used effectively. Especially since Linkara drew such a stark parallel to the main character in the comic......weird.....Just weird enough!

I'm honestly surprised no one else has commented on this. Why is it that everyone in the comic has yellowish skin? Does it take place in a gritty version of The Simpsons? Because liek Linkara says this guy is psychotic and kind of just an asshole, he doesn't seem to have some hidden beauty that from what i understand Lady Gaga thinks we all need to unleash. The ending is really confusing because the guy is wearing a wig and singing (and i feel badly too) so why would Gaga bother saying he should come in. Some of it is explained on the first DVD. The spaceship thing was explained in a previous episode. Linkara has access to advanced technology thanks to things that are explained in later episodes (see either my own website to skip ahead and watch those or wait until they appear here as part of the reruns).

This is the worst comic Linkara has ever reviewed. Worse than Marville, worse than Avengers #200, worse than Tales To Offend, worse than Jello Man and Wobbly, even worse than ASBAR. The art is ugly, the protagonist is a creepy, snobbish, pervert, the story is baffling, and it barely has anything to do with Lady Gaga. This is less like comic, and more like an endurance test. Not even Linkara's great humor and funny reactions could make looking at this thing tolerable. And for those of you wondering about Holy Terror, while Holy Terror is objectively worse than Lady Gaga: Fame, I would sooner pick up and read a copy of Holy Terror than do the same to this pile of trash. Damn this comic to the firey depths of hell, and I'm sorry Linkara that you were forced to endure this nightmare.

While this comic was not executed well, like at all, the one thing I legit like is how supportive the main guy's wife is of his little impromptu drag show. If they had made it clear that this was a story about a guy who discovered his own queerness through his hyperfixation on Lady Gaga it could've really worked. I speak from experience; some of my favorite movies of all time with glorious queer-coded villains led me to figure out my identity as well.

Ziggy stardust was 1972-1976 the main character doesn't even look old enough to have been there, neither was I was was born about 30 years later but this guy looks around late 20s to mid early thirties so he wouldn't have been alive either
