RUMINATIONS: This is probably my favorite of all the Tandy Computer Whiz Kids reviews I’ve done. It’s got a perfect combination of terrible shilling of products (when the comics can be BOTHERED to shill out products), bizarre and out of place PSA, and just enough nonsense and stupidity to make it rife with potential for humor. The “combine harvester” freakout is something I hadn’t done in quite a while and decided to bring it back for this episode. It’s the kind of thing you REALLY want to save for something completely nonsensical and stupid and fortunately I had some new material available to me to use, in this case the ballpit balls I had purchased for a Dalek cosplay I never made as well as a few other items for great gags.
The “Christmas opening” may seem odd for the youtube crowd since this is being released there in December, but of course this was originally a July episode. Really it was just a subtle way of continuing the “Ghost of the Machine” arc by having Nimue screw up something seemingly simple like a celebration title card.

Hey Linkara, you remember that Justice League Episode where Jon Stewart, Wally West, and Hawkgirl (I couldn't think of how to spell her real name) get transported to a picturesque Golden Age-style place where everything seems perfect but it turns out it's been repeating the same cycle for the past fifty years, not even allowing the seasons to change? These Tandy Wiz Kids comics remind me a lot of that episode except for one very important thing: WE AREN'T SUPPOSED TO BE THINKING ANYTHING'S WRONG! This is a bad sign. EDIT: and J'onn

You see, in Japan, adults are the mythic creatures; most often disappearing of the face of the Earth or inexplicable dying before the said kids can know them. For those who don't know, the difference between venom and poison is that venom is delivered intravenously while poison is ingested.

You know, I would absolutely read a series about Alec and Shanna coping with their parents death by throwing themselves into schoolwork and social work to try and mask the trauma, especially after being adopted by oblivious parents who still live in the 1950s.

15:42 Here's the thing, there was a part of a story, that had a little girl being a doctor (but she's an apprentice to the doctor/owner of his clinic). The girl can suture cuts and asminister certain meds to people. Sure, so far it sounds cute, but there was a massacre of a certain group of people, that filled up the clinic. The injured screamed, cried and groaned of suffering and sadness. And the girl who did her best helping those people with her mentor, she sat in the corner, shedding tears from hearing the injured's weeping across the hall like a legion of souls wanting release of their pain. And the doctor himself, gave her a hug, telling her, "it's alright, you've done all you could, and I'm proud." That is the weight on how fragile a child can break from doing stuff that could break an adult. Doing such work from detectives to psychiatrists, it can wear you down, no matter what age. This comic is so saccharine, that it might as well be a telly tubby/ care bears crossover about the *EVULS* of cigarettes, alcohol, and guns while saying the movie "Thank You For Smoking" is an awful film...

The five minutes or so where Linkara loudly rants about everything fuck-y with the sort-of opening scene in Ms. Wilson's class is even funnier if you imagine he's actually one of the students, sitting there in class and interrupting after every sentence to chew these schizos out for being so, well, schizo. I can just imagine Ms. Wilson, Alec and Shanna standing there with plasticine smiles while all the other students stare in shock and horror as Studentkara rants like a loon about the insanity of their situation.

After a lifetime of watching Arthur time doesn't really have much relevance to me as well. In worlds that are suppose to teach children important lessons in life, the biggest lesson the cartoons and comics teach us all is that time is an illusion. We can have as many summer vacations as we want.

The Tandy Computer Whiz Kids comics have two personality traits that have focus: TRS-80 computers, and staying off drugs.

In case if you’re wondering, Realistic is a sub-brand in RadioShack that sells mostly radios and video equipment. They’ve sold camcorders in the 80’s like the Realistic MovieCorder and even sold VHS VCRs. According to Wikipedia, they’ve fizzled out in the year 2000 as an agreement for RadioShack to sell RCA branded stuff.

Just so your aware, ‘Realistic’ was Radio Shack’s in store brand for electronicslike Turntables & VCRs from the 1970’s - 1980’s like ‘Tandy’ was their brand for Computers around that time.
