Such a gifted singer and so versatile! I mean, how many can sing pop, rock, jazz, R&B and sound authentic? Not many. Maybe Kelly Clarkson and Beyoncé. Man, I wish I had her belting range! I used to comfortably get up to a C, but then I dislocated my jaw (no vocal coaches were really teaching proper technique back then for belting). I’ve found the placement now (and use that for a much stronger mixed voice), but I’m too nervous to work up to belting in that range and just tend to switch into mixed voice (which makes me sound like my old classical voice teacher trying to sing pop - cringy 🥴). Sigh.

@@paws8403 - Well, there are people who can push past their break in their chest voice more than others. And there are those whose belting voice is a more chesty mix. Let’s put it that way. Jennifer Hudson is proper example of the more chesty mixed belters out there. I wish I could use my mixed belt in this way. I can belt pretty high in a mixed voice, but it doesn’t sound as round and full as Kelly or JHud. It works okay for certain pop songs or Broadway songs for me. Finding the right placement for my mouth and the vowels makes a difference. Dropping just my chin. That was a revelation by a recent sub for my vocal coach. I can’t remember all of these things while I’m singing though. I can barely remember the words 🥴.

@@firethroughtheskies2648 spinto soprano??? Those terms aren't relevant anymore in k-pop or pop. Solji, eunji, younghyun, joohyun, yeonji etc are mid sized/heavy Sopranos. Sopranos in k-pop are generally categorised as like this - 1) Really light Sopranos - NN, winter, sana, sunny, bada etc 2) light soprano - taeyeon, wendy etc basically your 98 % k-pop female Sopranos. 3) medium Soprano/heavy soprano - solji, Eunji, younghyun, joohyun, Lina, yeonji etc 4) low soprano/heaviest soprano- moontak Talking about lady gaga, she does seems like a true mezzo to me. Her 4th octave seems to carry much more weight than the above girls, even more than the likes of moontak.

@@vampiregaming9820 oh okay but back then, you're so brave to used terms in kpop so that's why I surprised you didn't now. As for lady Gaga, nah her voice is kinda too high set and bright to be true mezzo, you only based on vocal weight which would not determine true voice type of a person. Her natural density is not enough to be pure mezzo too. One day, she'll be a mezzo but she's NOT a mezzo now especially to me. Her voice is the same with solji eunji and younghyun aka heavier sopranos (yeonji and joohyun are mid sopranos as well as wendy and haewon, they are not as dark as people above but they aren't light sopranos either). This is how I view sopranos voice in yt nutshell way: Very light/lightest soprano Light soprano Mid soprano Heavy soprano Very heavy soprano
