I will always love and admire her for releasing this song when her career was at its peak. It was a risky move and ended up alienating a good chunk of the general public and even some of her "fans" due to its main theme (yeah, things changed a lot in 10 years), but she ultimately decided to stick to her vision and beliefs. From the bottom of my heart I thank her for doing this, because that 14-year-old boy, discovering and trying to accept himself, really needed it. Happy 10th birthday, Born This Way!

How was she ahead of her time? This music video looks too much like Madonna's "Express Yourself." Both videos were inspired by 1927 German/Weimar Republic film called "Metropolis". Lady Gaga and her team took too much from Weimar Era art; if you didn't know, many conservatives thought of 1920's Berlin as too "decadent" and "degenerate" as it was a city filled with prostitution, sex workers, gambling, homosexuality, crossdressers, pornography, etc and it was evident in the films of the era. Of course, that changed when the Nazi's rose to power.

This song is so powerful. It's so upbeat and an amazing dance track, but it conveys sadness too. The sadness of an insecure little girl, yet propped up by her proud mom. The words are so honest and raw, especially at the beginning. A WONDERFUL acknowledgement from Gaga to her mom...basically thanking her for being the supportive mom that all moms should be to their children. Just a fantastic song, lyrics and sentiments from a wonderful lady, GAGA.

I remember when this first came out. I was 11, it was all over the news because of the lyrics supporting our LGBTQIA+ community, and even banned in some countries. I'm proud to be a part of the community who grew up listening to her. I love her so much. Let's stream Chromatica when it drops! Artpop and Joanne didn't get the hype they deserved!! Let's go monsters!

@@servantofaeie1569 I just love people who think they are more than just some organic molecules of carbon, oxygen, hydrogen and some other stuff, and that they think they will actually have somewhere else to go after their shitty life. Wake up. Leave people be. Religion has hurt way more people than helped them and it's why the world isn't more advanced nowadays. Shove your satanic propaganda up your ass, because whay you preaching isn't what Christianity is about. It's about loving everybody and accept everyone. If I told you Jesus was black, you'd probably freak out. If I told he was Asian, you would have a stroke. Call me faggot all you want, I prefer living a much more open minded life opened to a lot of experiences than believing there's something else after all of this. Yes there is something else. Your body is gonna become food to the nature. And that's about it. But you go on killing people and beating them up because they don't believe you. Lady Gaga is one of the best human beings in the world and I'm glad she exists in the singing world to give us all a voice, and give a big middle finger to tall straight homophobic brainwashed religious people. Waiting for you to get out of the closet it's clearly internalized homophobia henny. 😂

@@andresequeira4461 because i AM more than that, and i WILL have somewhere to go. YOU wake up. i have already woken up. i will not "leave people be" this is my job. this is not religion. you know what is? this satanic propaganda. homosexuality is a religious act, against God. everyone needs God. if everyone obeyed God, we would be the most advanced that we could ever be. and im not christian, im Messian. everyone will only be truly equal when we all accept God. Jesus WAS black. Jews were black back then. He was technically Asian, because He was born within the continent of Asia. I will go to Heaven, while you, if you dont change your ways, will burn in Hell.

@@andresequeira4461 i dont kill people or beat them up. lady gaga is one of the WORST human beings to ever exist. shes posessed, satanic, in the occult, a puppet of the illuminati. shes more likely to kill people than i am. also, i cant take anyone who uses the word "homophobia" seriously. ill assume you have no idea what anything is. im not in the "closet", im not "homophobic", i just have MORALS and im aware of whats going on behind the curtains of the news and history books.

Sandy Van Stedum Doesnt the Bible also say “love thy neighbor”? Also, the Bible mentions being against Tax collectors more than it does being against gay people. So does that main you are going to condemn tax collectors? Furthermore, you are talking about a book written thousands of years ago that might not even be real. I have no problem with you believing in the Bible. Thats you. But dont force your beliefs on everyone else, cause theres a chance that you are wrong. If you leave us alone we will leave you alone.
