I remember Trixie and Katya quoting Gaga's "Fame is like a prison" saying that is the most pretentious thing ever but we can never imagine what it really is like to be in her shoes. Her life is one lived in constant isolation for fear of safety. She can't go do normal everyday things we take for granted. If she went out in sweats she'll be front page on tabloids. Strangers will take photos of you and your friends see you as a walking ATM machine. The level of scrutiny and attention these world famous celebs have to endure is something we can never fully imagine. It's all glamorous on paper, but probably a nightmare in real life.

I've had wonderful friendships in my life and they have sustained me. Thanks so much for reminding me. I keep telling myself that life is often isolated when you get older. True. But it doesn't feel good! And good lord, my reaction to running into you would be to tear up and thank you and ask how you are doing. So imagine that. Glad you are feeling better.
