I didn't know either. I DEEPLY loved STP, and I liked Chester, I miss everthing from those times. Hootie/Blowfish cover of "Interstate", .. fucking blew my heart out I was getting divorced from my only wife when "Purple" came out. Fucking kicks my heart out of me today still will all my life. "Lady Picture Show", is the only other song from that era that comes close. 😢🎉

Been watching a lot of STP stuff with Chester lately and, man, they were so happy to have him. In every interview, every live show, everything- they were constantly smiling, hugging him every 5 seconds and looking at him as if he was a sunny day after a long winter... Everybody always talks about the LP guys, but nobody ever mentions that these guys lost Chester too (I know he left the band prior to his death, but they stayed close)- and, as a matter of fact, they lost 2 different singers over the span of 2 years. I just feel so sorry for them...

Hell yeah!! Chester rocked it!! I was fortunate and grateful to see both preformers sing .. Scott Weiland left big shoes to fill and I'm positive that Chester Bennington was only paying tribute. And he did it with style,love and grace. In my opinion better than any other artist that assumed the role of a front man or lead singer in rock and roll history. All members of STP deserve credit for the name and sound

@@roni6135 ill be honest, I only recently found all these videos of STP with chester instead of scott. When I first heard that they replaced Scott Weiland with the frontman from Linkin Park, I was really pissed off. I was like fuck that you can't replace Scott Weiland!!! And I also had never really gotten into Linkin Park so I wasn't aware what an amazing singer Chester was. Ironically the reason I never got into Linkin Park was that I thought the vocals were way over-produced. I was like jesus christ how much studio magic do you have to put on a vocal track to make it sound decent?!? Then I saw a video of Chester singing live, and I was like oh.....nevermind. Like I legitimately couldn't believe that he just straight up sang that well all the time. But I have seen the error of my ways lol

Let’s be honest. While Chester did a great job singing, I get an uneasy feeling watching him sing Scott’s words with such passion. And make no mistake, Scott was a true poet. No one can deny STP’s song lyrics were ever straightforward and they truly came from the unique mind of Scott. I guess I can’t fathom why Chester would sing for STP when he had his own very accomplished career where he was able to passionately sing his OWN WORDS. I guess I’d just feel fake being up there. It’s like if someone asked me to make a passionate speech they wrote and pretend it came from me. It just doesn’t look or feel right

Whatever.. I think he was a lyrical tenor but scott was high baritone so doesnt fit the band. Specialyy low tones are not good ..

No offense to Mr. Bennington, as he seems like an accomplished musician and singer in his own right, however this is like a dad having his brother take his kids to the beach for the weekend. Its cool and all to be hanging out with Uncle Chester, but its just nowhere near the fun it would be if dad were there.
