Woman with Orcas. Paddle Boarding with Orcas. In Baja California orcas have been visiting this area below San Felipe for past 5 years. If you look closely there are two adult females teaching their young how to harvest cownose rays. Look for white patch in the mouth. The woman in the video has lived on this beach for over 12 years and has heard stories of these rogue orcas playing with boats. She respected their space. At the end of the video you can see the large orca still wanted to share the sting ray with her as it followed the paddleboarder to the beach. Please subscribe to our channel. More videos soon.

That's the live orca show to watch, in their natural habitat and not in a tank. I liked that she respected their space and removed her paddle when they were near. I think these beautiful creatures appreciated it as well and gave her a private little show. Loved it. 😊

@stax its a wild animal with a mind of its own and a capability to end your life in an instant. There maybe no known attacks in the wild, but how long have we been keeping record? They used to think chimps were harmless to humans, but we now know how dangerous they are. Just Look at the sea world girl. She was murdered by that orca. A bear can kill you an eat you, but they cant murder you. To each their own, they’re fascinating creatures. I wouldnt mess around though thats all im saying.

@@all_bets_on_Ganesh You are ridiculous. Those orcas were being cruelly treated for decades at Sea World! It's just like the stampeding elephants at the circus and finally they snapped and said no more. Orcas are smart and sweet natured unless you enslave them and make them perform eight times a day and feed them small, old, stale, frozen fish. It took them decades but they finally revolted. So...a bear can't murder you but an orca can? You seem to have an abnormal dislike for orcas and I don't trust anyone who hates the kind and beautiful orca.

@joe smath going by her approach, I'm thinking this isn't her first trip. It's the same as scuba diving, base jumping, parachuting, Just getting in a car each day. You put yourself in harm's way every time you leave the house so what do you do, stay home and never experience anything or take your chances and have this amazing encounter? It looked like these guys are regulars anyway by how they reacted, or in this instance, didn't as people expect them to. She put no one else in harm's way and if they responded differently and that's how she wants to go out, so be it. Her choice. Would I do it? No. But I've jumped from planes, scuba dived, Bungy jumped and so on. I agree with you. What makes it even more remarkable is that when orcas play with each other, they do get powerful, though without ever hurting each other. For something so large, they are also remarkably precise in their movements. But if they played with humans the same way they play with each other, they would do a lot of damage. The gentleness is all the more striking when you see the awesome power they can turn on when they choose to use it.

Yeah we are delicate creatures who have overspread and to a large degree altered the planet like no other species in Earth's history. Our strength is not in the robustness or size of our bodies, but in what we can invent and carry-out as cooperative groups. And it is for that reason it is ultimately to their own benefit that Orca do not consider us as food and treat us with restrained curiosity. If they didn't and were universally perceived as a threat, they would have been wiped-out by us puny humans long ago. I am glad they were not.

Captive orcas can be dangerous because they are confined which is not in their dna. They need to travel in the open ocean with a pod because they are social and like to hunt for food. Divers swim with them all the time. They can be jerks to other marine life because they teach their young through play even though they don’t always eat their prey. They are the largest species in the dolphin family.

I was in awe of her lack of fear , she is definitely not one of those, me included, that would have silly thoughts like - just my bloody luck if their starving! I'm amazed the Orcas did not tip her off the board just to play with her! Does anyone know if the occasional bad ass Orca exists due to upbringing , perhaps due to fish or seal shortages, bad tooth pain etc, just a thought?

Not even one bad wild encounter with humans in 50 years anywhere in the world. All these videos on KZbin and not 1 attack, bump, nibble, smack of a person. Not 1 capsizing of a kayak, paddle board, surf board, canoe, etc. Nothing!! Just recently some younger orca near Spain damaged sail boats but no humans. Recommend you look up Roberto Bubas videos in Patagonia. He’s a park ranger and he walks into the same waters where orca beach themselves to catch seals and he pets them! And they like it!

I love Orcas, they are literally my favorite animal on the planet. I would love to believe all the wonderful things mentioned about them in regards to never showing aggression towards humans. Having said that, each animal is it's own individual and has it's own personality. While this is a wonderful video and obviously an amazing experience by this very fortunate individual it was not without a huge amount of risk. I have seen a video of a man paddle boarding off the coast of Southern California I believe where the two female Orcas began nipping at the board. Thing is they probably meant no harm but they are huge animals and Apex predators who in a moments notice can make a decision to do what ever they wanted.

Willie Moore, Understand your caution but consider this: In nearly 50 years of intentional & unintentional interactions with wild orca throughout the world, not one single fatality has ever been recorded. Only one recorded bite in 1972 and the surfer survived. Prior to that records are scarce but no recorded attacks on humans that I’ve ever read. 50 years of kayaking, paddle boarding, open ocean swimming, snorkeling, free diving, scientific research, fishing, among them but only One attack & ZERO deaths.

Always remember an Orca watching tour I took in a RHIB off SE coast of Vancouver Island one beautiful summer day. Arrived at area guide thought would be good, shut off the engines and within a minute or two a pod showed up - magnificent creatures. What I’ll never forget was this what looked to me like a young adult came right within a couple feet of where I was and just hovered there on it’s side looking at us. Looking into that eye I had a sense of looking at a very intelligent creature looking back at me. It stayed there for a couple of minutes then moved off to rejoin the pod.
