Id personally go with a scorpion design, or revise tento a bit because that capture thing is kinda a double edge against you because there's no way to tell how much damage you're doing to the bot trapped inside.

I kind of wish Lisa would have gone with a flamethrower instead of a drum spinner... The ladybug looked like (from what I saw, at least) was able to capture the bots, but not do enough damage.. Given what Complete Control did in its match, it may make for an interesting flame bot!

I was thinking about the same idea. Not only is a flamethrower easier to build (according to team witch doctor), but it may also work with a robot that pins opponent well, and tento is exactly that. I'm not an engineer tho - maybe Lisa thought about it and there are other reasons behind not using a flamethrower.

The drum spinner would do damage right away causing damage to the exterior. a flame thrower needs to be placed in front of the opponent long enough to increase the internal temperature of the other bot to destroy the electronic componsents. If the head could be adjusted to relect and contain the heat this would work better

I cannot disagree with you more. I'm an international supporter of Robotic Combat. It has inspired teens like me to pursuit engineering, especially in robotics. The weapons and robots designed to battle in the battle box are being used elsewhere as well. It's also fun to watch robots fight, there is no blood and no body contacts. it's a sport like others, I do not think it's more violent than Basketball let alone boxing, and it also lets engineers try new ideas out in the battle box. If you believe this show promotes useless violence, then so are a hundred other drama out there doing way worse.

Ah yes, lets not let people explore engineering by doing something "Violent" towards inanimate objects. While we're at it, lets ban video games which depict anything involving harm to any thing, living or non living. We'll only have non-violence puzzle and non-contact sports games.

Why do you have so much bias towards such a creative sport? Most of the robotic combat technologies are used for construction work. For example, the drum spinner technology of the robots are being used in tunnel construction. I know you may also be against boxing, free style fighting, and any other sport with a bit of violence out there. While there is combat in the battle box, it essentially promotes engineering. Technology from the battle box benefits our society and the world.
