The vibrations that emanate from this song lifts me up to God and His divine power. I was 16 when I first heard this song and it gave me so much hope. I first heard "a la la de day" as "I have a lot of days" and the power that that phrase gave me is beyond words... The most beautiful lyrics of hope ever written can be found in this song. I first the Band play this in 1989 on 31st Dec going into 1990. The concert was broadcast on Radio 1 in the UK. They intertwined it with "Dirty Old Town" which is an old Manchester song. I digress. I write lyrics of songs that are important to me on paper and put them up in my office. I don't read the lyrics off the sleeves, I just do it by listening. This in 1990 was the very first one (from the night before). Took me about 2 days and a lot of paper to get it right.
