Exactly the same for me! The only reason i started shaving when i was in middle school was because some girl in gym class noticed my BARELY noticeable leg hairs and commented aloud how gross it was, while my sisters at home would always comment on how gross my hair was and ask why i didn't shave everywhere, including my privates, even going as far as to try waxing my arms. Really freaking stupid. Trust me, they will get rid of your eyebrow hair if they could(i mean all of it). I even started wearing make-up because of them. I NEVER even got a bad look from a guy, let alone a bad word. Guys like to focus on body shape, boobs and butt(not that i cared, but it was obvious). About a year later, i stopped living with them and realized how stupid it all was, so i stopped ALL OF IT. I don't get people sneering about me anymore, i even get compliments! But i realized it all has to do with the people you associate with in your life, the people you keep hanging around. The phrase, "You Are The Sum Of The 5 People Closest To You" is no joke. So don't keep those sisters too close, at least i didn't and don't. XD Far better off without their misguided influences.

My mother told me that I needed to shave or no one will love me and I won’t be accepted in society because I would be seen as disgusting. I stoped shaving a little over a year ago because of my depression and lack of energy (so i wasn't taking the best care of myself). The fog has lifted these past few months so i decided to shave and i didn't really like it especially when the hair started to grow back it was so fkin itchy lol. Now i just trim here and there and i think i look better and i feel very free! I would totally recommend that everyone lets their hair grow out at least once in their lifetime. Here is my positive comment. This video is the reason I have stopped worrying so much about shaving. I have multiple chronic illnesses and shaving is absolutely exhausting for me. These women showed me that it's okay to have hair. They also showed me that I can be confident with body hair. Without this video I would be causing myself immense pain and exhaustion from shaving, and I am grateful that I have the privilege to control what amount of hair grows on my body.

They should have talked about the physical benefits of not shaving. Hair creates oil which is a natural skin protectant, antibacterial and anti inflammatory. I started shaving my legs and armpits when I was about 14 but i never really thought to shave down there. For a while I honestly didnt realize that it was something that most women did, and it just wasnt something i was concerned about. Then after a while people I knew found out I didnt shave and acted like I was crazy and it made me feel really weird. Later I ended up in a relationship (with another girl) and it started to give me anxiety about doing stuff with her because I thought she would judge me the way everybody else had. Eventually I decided I might as well just tell her and see what she said. I ended up getting the best reaction i could have asked for. She respected whatever I wanted to do with my own body and said if I didnt feel like I had to I did not have to and it didnt matter to her. That was the first time I felt respected for my own decisions by another person and made me feel so much better about myself. Idk if this mattered to anyone but I felt like sharing my little story and maybe it helped someone else :)

I have had people say shit about my arm hair and when I shaved it many people started asking "why?" and tbh I feel better without it but my scar is more prominent now (I have been told it looks like a white Caterpillar always nesting on my elbow ).
