I want my daughters to have traditions of their own, especially for the holidays. When my husband passed away I had to downsize so they took the holidays all together. I got rid of almost all my entertainment items. But since I began watching your Chanel I have started to re-purchase good quality napkins, tablecloth‘s, China etc to help enhance their entertaining. It gives me a lot of joy and they are still doing all the work. Thanks Mary Beth!

Perhaps I am unaware of resources locally in Seacoast NH. I am continually AMAZED when you shop places such as this in Texas by the variety, and quality of items in a shop such as this!!! SO many BEAUTIFUL things. I LOVED the medium sized Waterford table lamp that looks like an old fashioned oil lamp-just BEAUTIFUL!! There were SO many other things-REASONABLY priced. I have been dreaming of an IKEA hack for storing my dishes/crystal that I would love to do one day. It’s on my wish list 🙂😊

Perhaps there is a charity resale in your area with treasures. You might find an antique cabinet that needs repurposing. Have seen wallpaper put on the inside backing and sometimes even painted. I placed a backing of dupioni silk in two of my cabinets. It adds light and interest to an otherwise dark area.

Getting myself educated on all the quality vintage finds and lovely blue and white’s. Love them. P.S. I had both cataract’s done at the same time this year, and it was a breeze. When I came home, took my dark glasses off and saw the brightest colours everywhere. Love those prices! I was surprised that the Danish drinks trolley was 1960s as I would have said 1930s...but I know nothing! But more important- tell me about the rum well in the cake stands! That's new to me and I am intrigued. Is it used for a particular cake?
@LadyMaryBeth3 жыл бұрын
I was also surprised that the tea card was Mid-Century. Perhaps because tea time is prevalent in Denmark. Rum, or other liqueur, was poured over the cake to keep it moist and flavorful. The rum well would catch any excess collecting at the bottom.
@chrissiewalker89803 жыл бұрын
Lady Mary Beth any cake would be good when soaked in rum. What a delightful idea! Teatime is so popular these days. I take friends to Fortnum and Mason when in London. I think F&M do the most traditional English teatime and it's such a lovely event. Teatime has a different presentation in ever country and that is fascinating. Food unites the world...well that and a nice cuppa tea;-)

Thank you for your videos! I am learning so much. I’m still confused about one thing. You often find Waterford Crystal. Is it always marked as Waterford on the bottom? When you say you “recognize” it as Waterford it sounds like it is not marked. I wish I was able to recognize it as you do.
@LadyMaryBeth3 жыл бұрын
The Waterford acid etched logo should be on all items. There are some older pieces that missed the mark or it's faint and hard to find. I find that the various crystal manufacturers have a unique look and color (yes, even clear). Keep in mind that the local ingredients such as silica sand and pot ash affect the clarity and overall look. Each glassworks factory concocts its own formula. I have years of experience working with Waterford and can often identify the brand from afar.
