LAFD Greater Alarm Commercial Fire: Station 44 (Cypress Pk.)

Los Angeles Fire Department Battalion 2 companies were dispatched to a structure fire in 44’s first-in on the 1000 blk. of N. San Fernando Rd. just after 04:00 hours.
Units assigned: AR1 CM21 CM22 BC1 BC2 BC5 BC11 BC18 TF1 TF2 TF3 TF9 TF12 LF10 LF50 E44 E55 E56 HR3 UR3 UR88 EM1 EM11 EM13 RA1 RA3 RA55 RA803 RA844 PI2 HE1 EA1
E44 was first on scene and reported a one-story metal clad commercial building (150 x 200 square feet) with heavy smoke and fire showing from the roof, LF50 arrived shortly after and requested additional resources for a defensive operation.
E44 and E12 worked on forcible entry while truck companies set up their ladder pipes, remaining companies set up large hand lines. The structure was an auto parts storage facility with pallets of auto parts stacked from floor to ceiling, forcing firefighters to pull large amounts of debris out in order to access the seat of the fire.
CM22 was “San Fernando IC”, BC2 was operations, and BC11 was the safety officer.
115 personnel were assigned to the incident with overhaul and fire-watch continuing into the next shift, an official knockdown was called at 10:41 hours. No injuries were reported, LAFD ACTS investigators were requested.

I live right at the bottom of the map, right here in cornwall. I love what our fire fighters are capable of and how hard they work to serve our community. But I got to say, house and structer fires are less common here, more RTAs and cats stuck up tress. Here in the UK our fire fighters come to our homes and fit smoke alarms, as well as carbon monoxide alarms, advise on fire safety and fire routes from homes. It's something us cornish people take seriously!!

That's Heavy Rescue 3. It's used as a crane and is pre-position at all multiple alarm fires in case of a building collapse with firefighters trapped.
