@timwhite55624 жыл бұрын
Actually, the guitar itself sounds really nice even without the effects. I like mahogany backed acoustics, I know that Rosewood are the typical go-to; the Martin D-28, 000-28 etc. I don't play acoustic all that much these days, though it comes and goes and I won't play more that a few times for a year or 2, then pick one up and play just acoustic for 6 months. I've always been a 000 size fan myself. 15 years ago I had a break in, they stole a custom shop and American Deluxe Strat, and a 000-28. I wasn't insured (of course the week before I decided I needed renters insurance, and if the break in happened a week later I would have been fine), so I had to slowly repurchase. The Epiphone "Masterbilt" acoustic had just come out. I had done a setup on one for somebody who bought the dreadnought Rosewood back and sides model and I was HIGHLY impressed. I remember telling my friend who owned the repair shop about it and the price and he was 100% certain that I was wrong; solid wood, bone-nut and saddle, dovetail neck joint (now, except Gibson and maybe Guilds (not sure on that one) they're all bolt on necks, everything from the cheapest up to $3000-4000 Martin and Taylors) and the most surprising; thru use hot animal-hide glue. Most sub-$1000 acoustics don't even use regular wood glue, they use epoxy. It sets very fast and is VERY strong, but it results in a "non-serviceable" guitar. So if something requires a neck reset or anything beyond a refret or something with the nut or saddle, you're shit out of luck. I'm rambling again. Anyway, to make a long story just a little less long; I bought a Masterbilt 000 concert size acoustic with Rosewood back and sides. 6 months later I did a trade with a customer and got a Martin 000-18, which is pretty much a 000-28 but with mahogany back and sides, and I LOVE it. It's especially for fingerstyle or flatpicking type lead. It's almost the opposite of what an electric with mahogany is like. The acoustic has a bit more presence and more noticeable attack. It's also good if you like to use dynamics. With Rosewood, the tone is much more even and hitting it hard causes it to compress where mahogany will be louder. To over simplify things; Rosewood back and sides is more "humbucker" like while mahogany is more "single coil."

It’s a cool guitar, it’s not “new” by any means. The APP feature is new though which is awesome as I don’t know another acoustic guitar that can be controlled via an app. It’s got the most features compared to what’s out there already. Cool songwriting and live tool to have less gear.

@19ujustdontkno864 жыл бұрын
I noticed that as well, I work on guitars all the time so that's just something I look at every time I look at an acoustic I guess.
@duffman184 жыл бұрын
Do you actually have OCD? Or are you trying to make a joke out of an incredibly serious and fatal illness that so often leads to suicide? Like if you have a cough, you don't go "oh I'm so lung cancer haha" and if you're a bit paranoid about something you don't go "lmao I'm so schizophrenia"
@duffman184 жыл бұрын
But to answer your question, if you're actually serious, then I think it's the shutter speed of the camera. You know, how if you line up shutter speed with the frequency of the strings, they can appear to be wobbling up and down a great distance very slowly, when in real life it doesn't look like that. The same thing happens with stuff like helicopter rotor blades. There's tons of videos of helicopters where theyre floating in the air while the blades look like they're completely still, not spinning at all. It's the same thing, the shutter speed happens to be in lock with the "frequency" of the blades, i.e. how fast they're spinning. In reality they are spinning and if you were there at the scene, you'd see them spinning too. And so if you were in the room with Ola, you wouldn't see the strings wobbling around like that, they'd just look like normal guitar strings
@mitchbleh13274 жыл бұрын
@@duffman18 I didn't mean any offence, the term has just become part of my vernacular because I've had to deal with it since I was a kid. Making fun of myself sometimes is how I cope, I'd never consciously take a dig at anyone else's illness 😉
