It's simply mind blowing to play. I just received a Model 30. Yes, its invented in France and made in LÂG's privately owned factory that happens to be in China. On the presets I started with Reverb - modified it - renamed it. Added A bit of compression and WOW! Sounds like someone recorded me thru a sound mixer. Just subtle enough to add that professional touch.

The guitar isn't that pricey when I take into account that I save money on a looping pedal, an amp and a bluetooth speaker. Granted, the looping pedal has probably more functionality and the amp would have an overall better sound, those addons would also take up space, extra power (+ an actual power source) and time to setup. Working with this guitar seems like a rather immediate experience which helps creativity a lot.

My question is how is the guitar itself? Forget the bells and whistles - how does the guitar play? I'm a Takamine guy and I love how they play. I love all the effects on this thing, but I'm skeptical of buying a guitar without putting my hands on it. How's the quality of the actual guitar?

I had a Martin D18 sold it for this guitar and do not regret it as Ijust cannot put it down ....Sounds best with the Marthin silk enthused strings on it as they bend easier and less harsh than the other Martin strings I had on it These strings make a big difference and I reccomend them on this guitar as this is useful with all the effects on board and I think its a wonderful thing. I actually thought it was going to be a gimic but wanted to try it and just cannot put it down now and so sold the Martin because it was not getting used tho should of probabley kept it to be sentimental. I just Really love the Lag Hyvibe its so much freakin fun do yourselves a favour and buy one ..

Check out the Donner DAT-115S 3/4 size acoustic guitar. It also has an internal amp, though it only has reverb and delay. But, you can buy this 36" overall length guitar for about $100 on Amazon. It can also be plugged into a regular amp. I think, direct from Donner, it's about $200.. As a 69 year old guitar hack, I have a 36" cheapo acoustic steel string guitar that I leave out in my living room, and pick it up and play it like 15 times a day. Handy all the time, and I play slide quite a bit on it in standard tuning. Thinking about getting the Donner. Though I'm a hack, I did play in some bands back in the 70's, and did one tunes at a wedding years ago. Just play for fun now, but could see myself doing a few tunes at an open Mic night or something.

Aloha Phil! Here’s a thought….you can just let music run through it while guitar is idle and leave it in a room, it might help break it in better like the tech that some other company uses with that drone noise going through it. I have the Yamaha Trans acoustic and a Tonewood amp but had not heard of this one. Mahalo nui loa for sharing!

I saw the regular Lag guitars at NAMM a few years back. Played it and was blown away. Those weren't for sale. I finally ordered one a couple months later. It was terrible. Sounded and felt like a toy. I was so disappointed. They are beautiful looking, but thats about it. Judging from some of the comments on here, its good to hear these models are better. Note: I played another regular model, the Tremontain, at NAMM before Covid-19. It still was terrible. 😶

The one thing I would like added to the guitar is the dots on the neck to tell what fret you are at. I asked Hy Vibe if they would be doing this in the future and they said no unfortunately, which I think is the only thing I don't like about that guitar. Otherwise I want one.
