+Javier Aguero perfect pivoting is not as hard as people make it. it just takes a bit of drilling to get it into your muscle memory, and once you've got it down it's a great tool. especially if you're a fox main, since fox's perfect pivot is amazing.

+Alex Moo I actually like using the 3ds as my controller and I also like playing Smash 3ds. Interesting fact: Ryu and Mac benefits in the controls of the 3DS. Ryu's inputs are much easier to do here and foxtrotting with little Mac isn't that difficult with him. There are other easy tech that are simple to do in the 3DS that can guarantee a worth. If you have a new 3DS, then that would pretty much solves some of the teching problem.

+Adalberto Ortega Hey dude, don't get a afraid. Your stick wouldn't break. If it does, use super glue, it works. I had a friend who use a foxtrotting in the 3DS a lot that some time later it snapped off, he used super glue and yet the performance of doing foxtrotting has increased, lol.

No way. You can do the same exact things when you wavedash; except you get invincibility if you do it fast enough in melee. In melee as well, it is a bit faster and you can make an easy reversal with a grab or a lot of character back airs. It is probably a bit easier though.

I've seen this last year on a 3DS version where a Guy was wondering what happened when he played Marth. It was exactly this. Love it :D
@LeCrustyBat9 жыл бұрын
From what I've noticed, the animation (or the absence of animation) is kinda similar to what you get when you perfect land (when you land at the peak of your jump, not falling on the platform). If you do it perfectly it cancels the lag and you can attack directly (or grab, dodge etc..). I think when you still have the momentum of your jump, the game doesn't consider you are falling yet and thus cancels the lag. What I think is that the characters who can do this are those whose body box comes in contact sooner with the ground, thus cancelling the jump, but at that moment, the game still considers you are jumping (not falling yet), which cancels the ending lag.
@SaltymanGaming9 жыл бұрын
Great video, the only small suggestion I have is mentioning issues with the technique earlier in the video. Invincibility frames are pretty important in smash 4.. you also need to go through the start of the jumping animation which reduces the advantage of reducing lag in the first place. but in theory you should be able to regrab the ledge almost immediately to regain your invincibility and use that for mixups or mindgames.

"Or even a K.O. Punch" That's some crazy stuff. Mac has a new K.O. punch opportunity which will have decent availability. I say that because in an even match, Mac will have taken considerable damage, along with his opponent to get K.O. punch. Since Mac has been damaged, and can easily be thrown offstage, he has many opportunities to use this tech since people try to gimp Mac as much as possible.
@elvv40879 жыл бұрын
I was practicing it and noticed it could also be performed quite easily another way (though not that quick!) You can do it if you press down instead of to the side or if you do press to the side but do a half downwards circle to the other side. So let's say you're on the right ledge: down -> left -> jump. Or right -> down -> left -> jump. I you do it like this your character gets further from the ledge so it takes longer to get back up with the jump. The jump is still canceled, but later. This can still be useful though since usually when you see someone get down and jump at the ledge you expect an aerial attack. Instead you cancel your jump and grab the opponent. Also, I have no proof for this, but it also looks like it can be performed with more characters and on more stages since it was much easier to perform. Hype!

You know what I think needs to be researched? inputting a command when you get launched. There are times where you get smashed off stage and it doesn't look like a kill UNTIL you input something to recover just to see yourself lose stock. A great example would be luigi. there are times where i get launched and want to input green missile seeing as im off screen but not quite at blast zone. Then there will be times were all I do is Try to DI away from the blast zone just to be safe and back in the game.

+mysmashcorner I have a trick similar to this too, if you do a ledge jump and an aerial or special at a special time, you can cancel your ledgejump and attack long the ground if that aerial cancels momentum

Just got around to doing this. It's very hard to perform. To those that would like to approach it a different way, look at MSC when he does it and mimmick it. Given hes doing it correctly, I tried to picture the speed I need by visualising it. Helped me a lot in getting it down.

I managed to do it with Shulk in Speed Form. Still testing wheter it works on the others forms and normal forms. It is acutally quite easy in speed form. I will post a video on that soon too
