This is basically Mystery Science Lagoon 3000 with PJ and friends while a speedrun happens in the background. Haha. It's amazing. I'm glad you called in some friends to commentate about the run, it reminds me of AwfulGDQ.

PJ please get the guys together to commentate over another speedrun! This is one of the best speedrun commentaries I've ever heard, and you're one of the funniest speedrunners I know of. Please please please make commentary like this for some of your other runs!

PJ, definitely feeling gammers frustration with that ice boss, or the game in general. it is pretty satisfying beating it though, but you have accurately described the game in the commentary and had a lot of fun with your videos. hope you post more. Kudos man!

1:08:35 This is absolutely insane, PJ is a brave (stupid?) man for running this game. Absolute hands down one of the best runs ever.

The final boss fight in this game reminds me of trying to play modern warfare online - it's like swimming in a sea of bullets while grenades and napalm rain down from above. If only this boss could spawn minions BEHIND you, the analogy would be complete. :) Liked the music in this game as a kid, absolutely hated the tiny sword.

The bosses death sound is the elephant from Dhalsim's stage, lol.

Special kudos to you PJ for pulling off that difficult run. I never actually beat this game b/c i rage quit as a kid, but now I might take another stab at it... (maybe...) ha ha

Every time I start up this video and hear "Uh, hello. You're watching 'Lagoon'" I hear an implied "WHY?" after that

This is one a very few games I could not beat. Got to the last *last* boss and just could not do it. It was the speed, the shortness of your reach, no temporary invincibility (after taking damage), bad hit box detection. Maybe 2-3 of those I could, but all 4 in conjunction, nope. Even with the shiny ball from Voloh, of which I would rebuy after traversing back every. single. time. You know, until you couldn't [go back]. I didn't know about that ring trick... well, I'm not picking the game up again. I will give it some credit, I did like the (breathtaking ;) ) graphics of that time... especially the later magic. The armor pieces are nice, if you don't skip getting them. And some music was actually pretty good, Siegfried's Castle, Gnome Plain/Ice Cave. Although if you listen to the game over screen for long enough, the music seemed kinda upbeat. And the ability to save anywhere except in boss fights, as you said, was a nice feature. All in all, it was a half-baked attempt by borrowing ideas from other RPG's. Score 4. Replayability: 0 But at least game gives you pot. Secret of Evermore is a better choice if you want something slightly off-the-beaten path.

I don't know why, but I have a strange fascination with this game. I love the music, but hate the fighting. I love the nostalgia, but hate the story. Even despite that...I still want to play this game again. Curse you childhood. CURSE YOU FOR MAKING ME LOVE A BAD GAME SO MUCH!

This old-fashioned RPG is actually a lot of fun to play-once you get past the totally basic look of it. It doesn't have that your turn-my turn battle feature, which to me gets too repetitive, The bosses are not too difficult, but getting to them is a challenge. It is primarily maze-based play, finding doors, talking, etc. Give it a try, it' really is a decent game..

I believe on the final bird thing you can stand in one corner and nail him over and over again. It has been more than 10 years since I last tried, but that was my technique to beat him as I couldn't do it any other way.
@Jazzypants20075 жыл бұрын
3 years later, I realize, but... Specifically, it's a little out from the left wall, about halfway up the chamber. Stand there and start jumping/swinging, you'll avoid most of his shots and manage to hit him. If i knew that as a kid, last night wouldn't have been only the second time I beat this game.

I remember being this one of the most unfair and unbalanced games ever. I've played through this regularly over the years, mainly because I've always enjoyed the music. But Nasir's sword... honestly this game wouldn't be nearly as tough if he had a longer range. And it's strange how some bosses, just by luck alone, can be the easiest bosses in the game and absolutely wreck you other time.
