Except they intend to remove the old cabs from the road, and probably recycle them for better utility in other ways, then this will only serve to worsen the congestion situation in Lagos. I don’t understand what the hell the Lagos state Governor is thinking. The state needs another mode of transportation like underground and overground train system which can reduce the mode of traffics on Lagos roads. I believe it’s time to invest in more cheaper mode of transportation to reduce carbon emissions. The state road gridlock is worsening on daily basis with bad roads because it’s the only mode of transportation in the state already overcrowded.

1.85 million initial deposit before the car is given out??? How many of these guys can afford such??? Secondly, scheduled maintenance? Is it for free? If not, why taking all the big sum from their account plus 1.85m initial deposit???? Are they really serious? Do they actually want to help these drivers? Why not spread all these money in the daily deduction cost over 5years to make it easier for the drivers? I understand the initial deposit is like a bond which will make you look after the car, but, why not reduce to about 500k, and still spread the rest of the cost over 5years?

@@NedMedia Your reply is a bit concerning to me, meanwhile, I hope you know this is not about you but the Lagos Cab Company (except you are part of the company). Anyway, back to the main point, I really wonder when 1.85million has become that easy for a prospective taxi driver to give out as a deposit. Then add the daily rental, and the other charges. I think it is quite too much for an average taxi driver to contend with and still make gain at the end of the day. However, if you think it is really affordable to them, then, I will be forced to change my view that there is so much hardship in the country. Thanks.

@@rinzybe They won't give out the cars for free, there is so much money in transport business. These cars are new and not used, that's why the deposit is high.
