In the documentary, FRONTLINE investigates the deadliest American wildfire in a century, and the missed warnings that made it so unstoppable. The film examines the fire’s causes, the chaotic response, and how changes to the climate and landscape have made Maui increasingly vulnerable to fires.

In the full length Frontline episode the Police chief said no one has ever seen 100 people die in a fire in 100 years. That is incorrect. The Station nightclub fIre in Rhode Island killed 100 people and injured 230 in 2003.

November 4, 2021. Police Chief Pelletier was hired by Maui County Police Commissioners via unethical means. In 2021..former Maui police commissioner Mark Redeker, went to Vegas with two others, to meet up with John Pelletier, A Captain In Las Vegas MPD. . They met up with him to illegally recruit him for the Maui police chief position. Redeker, the one who had formulated all of the interview questions, prepped Pelletier with the interview questions and answers. Pelletier was given an unfair advantage over the other candidates. He passed the interview, impressing the other Commissioners with his answers and he was hired. Pelletier also falsely impressed them by lying to them, proclaiming he was The Incident Commander of the Mandalay Bay mass shooting! He responded but he was not incident commander, Lt. Ray Spencer was,! Pelletier is not mentioned to be The Incident Commander in any of the Formal I October criminal reports, in any Las Vegas news articles, or Documentaries! Thus, Pelletier was A Pre-planned Hand Picked choice, He was HAND PICKED by some unknown criminals on the Maui Police Commission and their affiliate group of elite criminals. who were all affiliated with Mark Redeker.. Mark Redeker received an Ethics Violation. for his underhanded recruitment, So, as you can now see, the tap root of the unethical hiring of this criminal called Pelletier, came from The Maui Police Commission, who continues to uphold and support him, no matter what type of harmful criminalities he does to the community. Pelletier is now being exposed For the hard core criminal he is! watch Hawaii News Now,, and all eleven of Allyson Blair's investigative reports on Pelletiler's indecent mishandling of human remains from his very reckless and shoddy, unscrupulous search and recovery of the Lahaina fire victims. Here is a Recap #1. he failed to assign a Unique I. D. number on to all 102 Fire Victims bodies and remains prior to moving them from their Recovery Site! He failed to attach waterproof I.D. tags and labels printed with the Unique I.D. number on to any of the bodies, onto any of the bags of remains or inside contents of the bags of remains, He failed to enclose the waterproof ID tag inside any of body bags! He also Failed to assign the Linking Unique I.D. number onto all of the victims recovery site information before removing the victim from the recovery site! He failed to Print the Unique ID number on to all photographs of the bodies, onto all Photographs of the inside contents of all the bags of remains, and onto all the photos of The Recovery site Scenes! For 90 or more of the victims, it is now discovered he failed to take GPS coordinates of the actual recovery site locations, now all family members who lost loved ones, do not know where their loved ones actually died! Pelletier went ahead and filled in falsified GPS coordinates for 90 victims on The Attorney Generals FSRI Report and in his MPD Preliminary After Action Report and MPD FATALITY MAP, now all of it is a Falsified LIE! Also = On August 9, 2023, Pelletier claims MPD completed 50 Recoveries of Victims Bodies and remains, But at the same time there were no body bags! He'd run out. So, he used brand new untrained recruits fresh off the street to pick up the bare and fragile charred bodies and load them up "Six At A TIME" and Load. Them all together into the back of trucks, without first carefully placing them into dignified supportive body bags! they loaded up 6 at a time and proceeded to move them two different times with no Body Bags! This is indecent and this is disrespectful! these charred bodies were very fragile and some were falling apart. and in pieces. How could anybody consider this was a caring and Proper dignified way to handle people who just died in a fire? this is an indecent and undignified way to handle any handle human being who just died and Pelletier needs to be fired for this! Pelletier also didn't give a damned If family members received the accurately identified body or sets of remains, because he never assigned an identifier, I.D. number to anyone or to any remains.! He never assigned a linking identifier to any of the photographs or to the GPS coordinates or to any of the victims information retrieved at their recovery site! So, everything, every bit of victims recovery site information, and every photo, and every GPS coordinate, an every recovered bone and every body and every set of victims remains that were recovered and removed from the fire zone was removed All Unidentified, belonging to noone and every every single body and every single bit of information was all disconnected! and not linked, When the victim was moved, The Victim was not linked to the victims information and the victims information was not linked to the victim! It was all an illegal indecent grab-and-go process that followed No Protocols detailed in normal mass casualty Incident standards and required by the County Manuals and Guides, 😢 Now, to the latest News= we find out he never took GPS Coordinates For 90 Victims Recovery sites! he's now falsified all 90 plus victims information on the death certificates, on the Attorney General FSRI Report and on The MPD Fatality Report, 😢 Its all Been A lie and it is now all invalid and totally Invalidated!
