This was my favourite game played at Breakout Con in March. It was a ton of fun and look forward to playing it again.

They have a link sneak peak at the first box for wicked bad boys on the campaign. Between that and the expansion that allows for even bigger maps, so hyped!!

Do you think this would become stale easily with adults?
@RoomandBoardReviews2 күн бұрын
@@kanalune you know, I first thought it might when I heard the premise, but the act of building the dungeon is quite fun, plus the additional modules (at least the few I've seen) look quite cool. I don't know if I've currently seen enough variance in the stretch goal monsters/traps so keeping my eyes on those, but I was surprised at how excited I was to even meta game the dungeon construction and try and trick Zach with making him believe I did similar tricks from our previous game. So I think there's going to be enough there to keep my interest for a while.

There is a 1 vs 2 multiplayer mode on the Kickstarter. Seemed like a fun game at a horrible KS price :(

Do you think this will be a hit with younger children?

How young are you thinking?

@@RoomandBoardReviews In the 6-8 years old range where reading comprehension still needs support. Is this game functional (and fun for them!) where parents can help read the kids' cards without spoiling secret information?
@RoomandBoardReviews2 күн бұрын
@@thebluemeeple there wasn't much on your own that would require solo reading. There is the list of actions you can do behind the screen but for the base game it was easy to remember what cubes did what. You will probably run into the problem that Zach and I did when making the video, in that Zach accidentally made an illegal dungeon, but you could also just not play with those rules instead of having a chance that the deduction aspect could be spoiled along the way by a mistake. That would be my biggest flag is that there are ways to not create a "legal dungeon" by accident which you can't check because of the hidden information. And then in terms of enjoyment, I don't have much experience with children (all my nieces and nephews are younger), but I do think KTBG's brand has a focus on having children be able to play, so that is likely a positive. You also draw one treasure face down and then take one of the face up from the row, but there isn't too much treasure set collection blocking anyway, so you could modify it so you could help them read what the treasures do/score points for. But I imagine that could also be a road block and would be important since the treasures get you most of your points.

I saw "Play the Game" also did a preview for it and their channel used to be called "Kidsplaining" so I know they have children, so they might have a better idea of how their kids interacted with it (if they played it)

@@RoomandBoardReviews That's very helpful to know and thanks for the other preview recommendation as well! Overall, I'm intrigued by the game and have backed it thus far. :)
