I have 3 KV. Solar 5 years ago when I have completed the construction. KSEB took another 2 years to give me connection. But except AC all other house hold including fridge was and still working on it. I have decided to upgrade to 7KV so that AC too can be used. Mine is TATA solar, their back up service is excellent and they do visit and check. I might go on grid once I upgrade to 7KV Or above. Now battery is 5 years old, though, still working very well.

ഞാൻ 1kw സോളാർ സിസ്റ്റം വച്ച ആളു ആണ്. ടാറ്റാ പവർ ആണ് ഇൻസ്റ്റാൾ cheyytatu. ബാറ്ററി 5 years guarantee undu. ഇതിനുള്ളിൽ ബാറ്ററി സെൽ പോകാറുണ്ട്. പകരം പഴയ ബാറ്ററി കൊണ്ട് വയ്ക്കും. 5 കൊല്ലം കഴിഞ്ഞു guarantee ഇല്ല. പുതിയ ബാറ്ററി യുടെ വില 15000 Rs. കൊണ്ട് വച്ച് കഴിഞ്ഞാൽ ആരും തിരിഞ്ഞു നോക്കില്ല. മാക്സിമം 2 യൂണിറ്റ് കിട്ടും. കറന്റ്‌ ചാർജ് നോക്കിയാൽ ഒരു ബാറ്ററി യുടേ പകുതി പോലും ആകില്ല. പിന്നെ ഒരു ബാറ്ററി പോയാൽ 4 ബാറ്ററിയും പുതിയതായ് വയ്ക്കണം എന്നാണ് അവർ പറയുന്നതു. (5 കൊല്ലത്തിനു ശേഷം ) അതു കൊണ്ട് ഇതു നഷ്ടം തന്നെയാണ്. ഒരു ലക്ഷംത്തിൽ കൂടുതൽ ചിലവായി. ഇതു നഷ്ടം തന്നെ.

You calculate what is your purpose first and then invest. If you need solar only for emergency requirement you can go for off-grid. you will get 24hr electricity for your light, fan, fridge, washing machine and water pump. you can reduce the electricity by using bldc fan. bldc water pump also available. but the cost is higher than normal appliances. use only solar electricity in the day time. For AC use KSEB electricity. 2KW solar you can install within 1lak. I spend 80000 for my off-grid 2KW installation and saving Rs.600/- per month and having 24hr electricity in my home. No need of additional inverter. Normal inverter will cost you about appr. 24000/- .if you haven't KSEB electricity for 2 days then that also will go off. Fridge, washing machine and water pump will not work on normal inverter.

Tata solar ബാറ്ററി 5 വർഷം ഗ്യാരണ്ടി എന്ന് പറഞ്ഞു, 4 വർഷം കഴിഞ്ഞപ്പോൾ ബാറ്ററി work ചെയ്യാതായപ്പോൾ customer care ൽ complaint കൊടുത്തപ്പോൾ എത്ര യോ cycle ആണെന്നും മറ്റും പറഞ്ഞു എന്നെ ഒഴിവാക്കി, അതിന് ശേഷം 150 aw battery 14000 രൂപക്ക് ഓർഡർ ചെയ്തു, ഓർഡർ കൊടുത്തിട്ട് 4 മാസമായി, ഇത് വരെ supply ചെയ്തില്ല, പാനൽ മൂന്ന്വർഷം കൊണ്ട് തന്നെ crack വീണു, അതും മാറ്റി തരാൻ കഴിയില്ല എന്നാണ് അവർ പറയുന്നത്, ഇങ്ങനെ ആണ് solar ന്റെ ഗുണങ്ങൾ

You are mistakenly got into a wrong dealer. In fact you do not need 9.5 kw. A wrong usage pattern. Solar is not for profit, but for a comfortable living, saving the nature. If you opted for 3 Kw solar panel with 5 KVA system and battery, your purpose will be saved.

Gita Ccmms : Original setup was done by a Trivandrum based company (Meghabyte) who also installed system for Kerala Secretariat. Luckily I was safe from Sarita. Just after warranty got over, I had to replace battery. And then afterwards lightning struck our plant. Then I had to spent some amount and then I increased the capacity. First It was 4 kw. @@georgethomas1513 The solar power plants are profitable, if it is for our own use. Now-a-days, most of the families are with 2 to 4 members. Most of them will be out during day time. Individual usage of power per person is around 2 unit per day, including common area usage. (Except AC). Set up a Solar plant based on the individual usage. Air-conditioners are seasonal usage items, which shall be run by kseb. From our experience, we suggest to go for 3 kw planels, 5 kva offgrid invertor and 4 Nos Solar Tubular batteries. This is sufficient for an average family for using full electrical equipments of a house, such as bulbs, tubes, fas, Jogging machine, Car charging, cctv, remote gate, home theatre, computers, microwave oven, motor pump etc. The leftover power stored in batteries can also used for running 2 Air-conditioners of 1.5 for 2 hours each (with a good cut off system in AC) So,if this is adopted, there is no need of paying bill to kseb. Please ensure the Air-conditioners are serviced periodically, otherwise it will take more power with low cooling. The budget of such a system will be around Rs. 2.40 to to 3 Lakhs. Let the seasonal excess power consumption be from kseb. There is no profit in supplying power to kseb since they are giving less than Rs. 3/- per unit and charging 5 - 6 rupees from us. If the kseb is adjusting unit supplied to unit exported, will be profitable to both. The ongrid projects are profitable above 10 kw and if there are no family members are living in that home. Until you break even you won’t start getting profit. Solar is loss. It is dependant on KSEB providing discounts. If tomorrow KSEB removes the benefits because of excess electricity it is total failure. You have to also consider that you are paying lump sum at the beginning itself for Solar and you are loosing on other investments profit. With power from kseb you are paying as you use.

More like an advertisement with facts missing. He claims his average use is 5.5 KW per day. That is 5.5X60 is the current bill (for two months). That is 330 units and even with maximum rate of 7.9 per unit, current bill will be Rs 2607 for two months. This instalation cost him around 2.5 to 3 lakh (for 5KW)???. So how many years to breakeven? You do the math 😄

KW is a unit of power , KWH is the unit of energy, which we call a unit of electricity around here . 1KW panel will make 3-5 units/KWH a day.
