Stumbled across this yesterday while looking for somewhere to take the kids while staying in Port Elliot. We headed over this morning and had a ball catching various carp, so thanks for posting this, I didn’t even know this park existed. We had most success in the smaller pond with a running sinker and corn for bait, although floats worked too.

Nice catch mate, thanks for sharing! We used to live just across the road from the park, near the paddocks.. I watched them build it. I never thought there was fish in there until one day I saw a duck get dragged under the water by it's foot, it freaked out and flew off.
@davidsheldonfishing97263 жыл бұрын
Hi mate thank you, you use to live across the road and you watched them build it, well I recon they did a pretty good job it is a really nice place. that would have been a shock seeing a duck dragged under the water there are some big carp in there, also referring to your other message, that interesting about the garlic being a medicine for fish maybe thats why they like it so much. Thanks for watching and commenting and look after yourself. Cheers David.

Hi David, where abouts in the UK did you come from? I miss my uk coarse fishing, especially tench fishing. We're currently in Queensland but moving to Adelaide Hills area in October. I've already learnt so much off you. Great video's hopefully see you on the beach one day 😊👍

Hi Neil, sorry late reply mate. I'm from Hadfield we moved out hear when I was 7 and we went back when I was 11 and we move'd back hear when I was 14, my dad loved his coarse fishing too and during that short time when we went back I also did a lot of coarse fishing and it was great so glad I got to experience it my favourite fish was also the tench they were awesome looking and boy they fought hard we called them fresh water tanks. Gee it will be a big change from Queensland to hear but South Australia is a beautiful place with some good fishing when you get your feet on the ground, nice to hear you are finding my videos helpful I do get busy with stuff but will make more videos when I can. Yes might see you out fishing and let me wish you and family all the best with your new adventure.

Thanks David. Hopefully bump into you during my fishing trips. We lived in Mornington, Victoria for 18 years. Only been in Queensland for two and a half years and it's not for me. It is indeed a beautiful area. See you on the water! Lol, tank tench, that's funny. 😂

My son will be here with his family over Easter. Great spot to take the Granddaughters. I have taken them to the jetty near the surf club catching tommies. They had a ball and surprisingly didn't even look at the play ground until we where packing up to go home. I was told there are redfin in the lakes also. not sure if that's true. Seen on the news that they are stocking a few reservoirs with Yellow belly, Murray Cod and I think Bony bream. Will be opening a few up to the public to fish later in the year. More options :-) Great video David.

Hi Cliff. Yes it's a nice family friendly place. I met a young lad there with a lure he said there were Redfin in there hmm interesting. Opening up them reservoir's sounds good for all, it's what we need. Thank you for your comment Cliff.

Just emigrated so looking for lakes. Been here with the kids to play and wasn't sure you could fish it! now I know! Fished Lake Alexandrina, struggling to catch anything big though, well compared to Europe.. Will venture up River I think? anyway good channel learnt lots regarding sea fishing as we live in Victor so thanks
@davidsheldonfishing97265 жыл бұрын
Hi EMV Etang maison verre. Welcome to SA, nice place Lakala, relaxing and very quiet early morning. Lots of small carp in Lake Alexandrina a big fish would be 5kg there are some monsters in there finding them is the problem, a friend of mine lost one we were fishing next to the channel for the boats to enter the mornings on Hindmarsh Island it was around 10kg we guessed. (not far up from the barrage area) Swan reach go over the ferry and theres a big back water not far up the road some big fish in there. if they open Mt bold reservoir you might find what your looking for, my dad saw some monsters years ago basking near the dam wall. also brown trout down stream you have to be sneaky. Cheers David

@davidsheldonfishing97265 жыл бұрын
Hi Julian, my pleasure mate. fishing with a float in the Torrens will be great fun. Plumb the water depth where you choose to fish and set your bait just slightly of the bottom burley up with bread and away you go.Theres nothing like seeing a float go under. Cheers to you too.

Morning Mater. Good catch. Do you have the experience in catch a kingfish landbased in Kangaroo Island?I will go fishing there in Easter and very eager to catch one kingfish which i never got. Thanks. If there is a chance to catch you up, i can give you some very precise float and adjustable sinker, they are pretty high efficency for fresh water fishes. Looking forward to see you soon.

Hi lun. Kingfish well there's a fish I haven't caught yet, my plan is to catch one land based on video anything too big will be bye bye will have to be the right size to land. I gaffed one for a friend in his boat off Rapid Bay 44lb. Kangaroo Island is a beautiful place with great fishing but I can't really help you with where to catch a land based kingfish over there, We supply Ingrams hardware shop over there you could ask a young fellow called Dan who works there he might be able to help you out tell him David the maggot supplier told you to ask. Yes I sure do, a guy I use to fish with bought one back in 1979 I think, it was a long time ago. The only problem with it was it twisted your line big time. Wow you brought back some memories finely out fishing.
