The oposite : if the seaweed is fresh, it isn't poisonous. If the deaweeb is salted and socked in limewater, it become poisonous. That's why it isn't eaten out of season.

All that Maomao didn't said is that you were lost, its not complicated really is more like you tried to read more than it said: On the way back with Basen she tipped him to find out where it came from. With the group at the kitchen she just left unsaid that if someone searched for that seaweed out of season they are might have done it on purpose. Oh, and unrelated but, Maomao saying to forget about it was because it rang a bell not just a random "i feel i shouldn't get involved" feeling.

@@angel_hope10taiba79I mean, even early on its quite clear that Luomen is not only quite knowledgeable but also has connections to the palace. In this regard, it doesn't take much of a leap to realize that there is, in fact, a lot the audience doesn't know about him

Ahh yes, the episode that always brings out the people who can’t help but spoil the series for others. I don’t know if you guys have finished the series already or not, but if not I might recommend being careful in reading the comments going forward. I don’t know why, but there is a subsection of the community that is obsessed with spoiling this part of the story. I even had it spoiled while the anime was still airing by people who read the light novel because they couldn’t not talk about.

It's meant that person working as an eunuch before quitting but still an eunuch

That's because Eunuch is first and foremost a position... that's even the origin of the word. Basically for someone to be an eunuch he had to be castrated but someone castrated didn't necessarily get the title of eunuch. Put it in the context of an Asian palace court not how we use the word in the West. It's literally Maomao's father's story.

Quintessential quintuplets was the first harem romcom I ever watched so I'm all for it. I'd enjoy seeing who they ship with futaro as the show goes on.
