Maomao’s face in this episode is terrifying, it completely caught me off guard the first time I saw it. Definitely one of the most intense moments in the whole show.

It's unfortunate that the jump scare face came to naught, though. It doesn't make any sense why she even made that jump scare face.

@@erict1628it does make some sense, and the episode left a clue. She mentioned relief earlier that she didn't show any emotion when Jinshi asked about the value issue. She bottles it up and hides it. At Lakan's name, she slipped. For a split second, Jinshi saw how she felt about him.

@@d112cons What I meant that if you've already watched the finale, then it makes no sense at all. The jump scare face that she made implied that she REALLY hated Lakan.

The bath with the sisters is suuuper cute. I love them all together because every time Maomao visits, they always seem to be like "Maomao was here!?" and miss her. So that was great. The comradery is awesome. And her reaction to the pharmacy lol. So funny. As expected. Meimei might be my fav though. Of the sisters that is. She is the most open of them all.

Maomao wasn't hiding her history, she's merely someone who doesn't care to push her history and thoughts on others. She'll never tell someone about herself unless it's important or comes up in conversation. She's very mature.

If Maomao would take Lakan's offer she would immediately become a noble... a high noble. Anyway, I like the theory that her mother is treated and housed because she is important, because most likely she is the real daughter of the old lady owner of the brothel.

No spoilers please! Do not tell too much than necessary! If you think this episode doesn't explain it, wait! It may be explained next... simply talk about this episode. There will be lots of questions, but slowly the questions will be answered next... while bring new questions. Trying to figure out the mysteries, watching how they reveal it one by one, that's the charm of this anime. Spoilers will ruin it!

So many suspicious characters: Loulan, Suirei, Lakan, … so little time to resolve. Why was Jinshi meeting people in disguise - what exactly is Gaoshun’s status and role, is Basen his son, is Jinshi Ah-Duo’s son, what is Loumen’s story why did he adopt Maomao … it’s hard to believe all of this will be resolved in Season 1.

Some of these will be answered later in S1, some may be in S2 or future stories, but hard to answer these questions now as it will be spoilersss... all I can say that these questions above have the answers later on. Slowly it will be revealed one by one. Well, not sure how much the anime will cover but there are answers in manga/light novels and I think the anime will cover the answers for the questions above later 🫢 Revealing the mysteries is the charm of it
