I travelled by Lake Como in July 2024 on a bus going to Lugano. It was hell ... traffic jams and jetskis. It was a relief to arrive in Lugano .

Edit : Everyone should go to Lake Como. It is fantastic. Never go to Lugano ... a dirty, overpriced tourist trap. Forget Ascona... it's like Disneyland

Thank you! Yes the Golden Triangle towns receive most tourists. At least during the day time you can expect lots of day trippers. For nightlife, maybe Como City would be better as it’s bigger in size and more people living there? The Golden Triangle towns get really quiet in the evenings

Depends on how much you want to see. We spent 7 days there and that was enough time to do everything we recommend in the video. But if you just want to focus on a specific area then you can visit in less days :) maybe 3 minimum
