Tip: In the USA most local parks don't really kick things into gear until Memorial Day. It marks the start of summer for a lot of schools, so parks wont operate at full capacity until then. That's why you encountered a lot of closed things during your trip.

Believe it or not fresh cut fries are not offered all around America. They are big on the east coast and then scattered. People actually get excited when offered. For example I am from and grew up in NY. They were more or less expected and the norm. I moved to Ohio and not so much. Penn Station was about the only place. I was so excited when I went to Kings Island and found out the fries at the Potato’s Work stand were fresh cut. More places have them around here now but not enough. I just started making them at home. Bought a special slicer and deep fryer just for them…LOL!! No frozen fries in this house😁. Glad you two are having fun at these last two parks I have seen.

In regards of the Titan Track on Boulder Dash, they put Titan Track specifically on hard to reach and high stress areas, and the Titan Track has actually allowed the ride to run the fastest it’s ever ran. Also, Titan Track isn’t always their default choice. The ride also got some new IPE wood track from GCI this offseason, so it will still be a wooden coaster.
@ThemeParkWorldwide6 ай бұрын
Thanks for sharing! The titan track sections were very smooth and was running very fast!

21:12 56 inches to feet is 4 feet and 8 inches. I remember McDonald's Playland does have a height restriction close to that. Not much time in life to ride that kids coaster. You cannot ride it if under 36 inches or over 56 inches. I need to get out to Lake Compounce someday, my grandmother lives in Connecticut and is 90 years old, but I will still go if I have no relatives left living in CT.

It fills my heart with so much joy to see you experience Boulder Dash. I think a lot of us can share that feeling of anticipation of wanting to do a certain coaster for so long, then finally getting to do it. Just watching the first POV wowed me and took my breath away with how fast and smooth it is. I think it could possibly be the best way to go in the future to save (and improve) all of those old wooden coasters out there, to replace with the Titan tracks. If it makes them even smoother and faster than before, that's a great thing!

Wildcat was build in 1927 by the Philadelphia Toboggan Company. It's the 14th oldest operating coaster in the world, and actually opened (I believe) just before the Cyclone in Coney Island. It's a special one. Glad you got a chance to ride it. I wish you had known it's history, but I hope it enhances your experience when looking back. Lake Compounce really does wake up after Memorial Day May 28th, the unofficial start of Summer in America.

Shawn and Charlotte, WE had an Historic Carousel in Seaside Heights, N.J. on the Boardwalk that was damaged in Hurricane Sandy. It has beautiful, hand carved Horses by William Dentzel and Charles Looeff. The animals dated from 1890 to 1910, I road it with my Family many times. It was restored in Ohio and will reopen this Spring. This one is another oldie but goody, also worked on by Loeff. Cheers, Rik

The wildcat backstory is a bit interesting. It got the new trains and full retracking in 2017, but it was horrible and even worse than the old track. So this year they brought in Gravity Group to do the precut track, and reprofiled it for the new trains. They'll probably finish the whole thing and paint it all white next off-season. And they just removed the trolley ride last off-season, the trolley itself was on a lease from a museum and it ended unfortunately.
