Lake Decade is a popular community honey hole in Terrebonne Parish, Louisiana. But how do hopeful inshore anglers hope to catch speckled trout there? It's pretty easy, and in this video you'll see how I do it.
Hi, my name is Devin. I'm a lifelong inshore angler and former fishing guide, but today I teach people how to catch speckled trout and redfish right here on Louisiana's coast. This fall/winter season I've done exactly that, catching limits of speckled trout from Dularge to Delacroix to Lake Pontchartrain to Chalmette to Pointe a la Hache to Venice. It's been a productive season.
Watch me fish Lake Decade to discover what the winning tackle and technique are, all the way to catch another limit of speckled trout and leave them biting.
While Lake Decade is indeed well known, I also have a knack for punching out to lesser known waters to find speckled trout biting elsewhere. In fact, finding and catching fish from scratch is the backbone of what I teach inside my course Inshore Fishing 101, which is only available in my membership, LAFB Elite. And, since you read this far, if you use code LF30 you will get 30% off when you join.
Tight lines, and thanks for watching!

Devin, a sincere thank you for helping all of us smaller channels. I have had my single biggest jump in subscribers since you visited my channel and brought me into your subscription community. That was truly a selfless act of kindness. I have been watching your channel for about a year and I'm just starting with videoing fishing trips. I have been watching your style and it is my goal to emulate much of what you do while adding my own style. In doing so, I have learned just how much you do to bring us this unbelievable content. Videoing on solid ground is one thing, but videoing on the water is very technical. So much needs to be perfect. Anyway, I have always supported you by watching your videos to completion and watching the ads, but I will definitely support you by buying a subscription to your inshore fishing course and community. If you ever need a hand, I think you just made a bunch of new friends. I would definitely help you out. Thanks for what you do

I’m a Texas coast fisherman. I only get to the coast 4 times a year so getting on fish is very important. I love learning from folks like you that really know the water and making changes according to conditions. Thanks for taking time to create real water content. I live over 200 miles from the coast and work as a teacher so it’s expensive and only limited time to go. I do love inshore Reds and trout though.

Thanks for the videos and perspective. I have learned a lot watching you. I never would have fished hard baits until I watched one of your videos and got my first hook-up. It was an awesome trout pac-man'ing along the rocks. Keep up the good work.

I know what you’re saying about “getting a bit bored” going to the same place to fish. It’s so much fun to try different places and learn new areas. As you know in Louisiana, we can fish new areas every day for 100 years, and never come close to running out of them!! lol

Enjoyed the video and yes appreciate if you would continue. I fished Lake De Cade for the first time in late October, outgoing tide, and caught an 18, 14, 16 and 13 inch trout before having boat problems. Returned in mid November, lots of wind and few trout. Again in early December, many throwbacks and kept a few. Everything was under a cork with the Marker 54 glide shrimp. You are right....those fish only want the cork. LOL We enjoyed being on the water. Take care and again thanks for the video.

It is always a challenge to change types and colors of baits to see how many diffednt techniques and presentations actually produce. Thanks for sharing. I have caught lots of nice trout, reds, bass over the years in DeCade and Merchant. Has been pretty good lately,

Have you thought about making the videos make more thoughts behind it only available on your platform. Like an overview more of why here, preplanning coverage and maybe post thoughts. I think to the community you have it would be helpful. I love these videos I just you still have more to offer within these that I think your community would appreciate more.

Okay, I see. Yeah, I have no idea if someone commenting on YT is a member of LAFB Elite or not. Yes, I did do the Fishing Trip Reviews, but I stopped doing them for myriad reasons, one of them being that people were just using it to get fishing spots rather than learn the process to finding fish. That's not my brand. That's not what I do. That and those people rarely, if ever, engaged the Community and posted fishing reports. Again, that's a problem. There were plenty more reasons why. This post here explains them all: www.lafbelite.com/news/what-happened-to-the-fishing-trip-reviews/ I'm sure you would put FTRs to better use than those people did, but I'm way past that now. The best way to make the best use of LAFB Elite is to apply what's taught inside 101 and leverage the Community to that end. Make a post to get help planning your next fishing trip and other anglers/members can chime in. That's the best way we are going to you vectored in onto some fish. The members who post fishing reports catching limits of fish have done the above. It works. The only missing ingredient that I cannot provide is self application. I can only lead a horse to water. It's up to them to drink. I hope that makes sense. Thank you for understanding.
