Pimp daddy is a great color for walleye up north. I first heard about it watching a KZbin on the Detroit River a few years back. I’m going to be fishing for for days out of lafitte at the end of February and I see I can use a lot of my walleye plastics. Thanks for the great video!!

It would be nice to know how many miles you go each trip?
@LAFishBlogКүн бұрын
That's a great question, Dillard. I have no idea why you want to know that. Like, that has no impact on the viewing experience or what you can learn from me in this video. I can only assume you're asking that in an effort to geo-locate where I'm fishing. I hope not, because you'll never catch fish like I do doing that. I mean, I only teach everything I know inside LAFB Elite....ahhh but you don't want to hear that because I just checked my CRM (which you're in) and saw that you didn't want to join a few years back when I was running a special. Let me just answer your question: it really depends. Some trips, not so many miles. Other trips, a few more. I know that's not a very satisfactory answer. So what I plan on doing is grafting a GPS transmitter and Neuralink interface into my scalp, preferably the top of my head for best signal strength. This way viewers will 1.) always know where I am and 2.) always know what I'm thinking. Finally you guys will have every bit of every information regarding how it is I catch fish and won't have to ask for innocuous details in an effort to geo-locate fishing spots or decide which lure color to use (which doesn't matter...at all).

What’s your rod and reel combo there when you’re throwing the popping cork? Thx
@LAFishBlog11 күн бұрын
The answer is, "it depends". Usually something medium to MH, mod fast to fast, ~7ft. To fully flesh that out, I wrote this guide to selecting the right rod for your needs: www.lafishblog.com/choosing-best-rod-speckled-trout-redfish/
@LawOfficeofJimBodin11 күн бұрын

Enjoyed the video and enjoyed "fishing" with you and hanging in there even when the fish are not biting or catching gets tough. I fished Stump Lagoon once and though I was aware of underwater hazards, I still managed to seriously wrap a crab trap on my prop. No damage, but luckily another fisherman had heavy duty snips to get that thing off my boat motor. I think you once published the route to take across Stump Lagoon, but I can not find it again. Can you point me to the article or video? Thanks for your help and yes please keep these videos coming. Great job.
@LAFishBlog11 күн бұрын
You can go straight across. There isn't any particular path that's guaranteed to be devoid of crab traps. Since you asked, here's that article: www.lafishblog.com/routes-across-stump-lagoon/ In the future, I strongly recommend using the search function on my site. Not just to you but anybody reading this. There's a wealth of information I've been compiling there before KZbin and smartphones became popular. I can only lead horses to the water, it's up to them to drink. The best horses are those who can go to the water and drink without being led. That's why I made my site. Thank you for watching.

I do what I do to teach folks the process to catching fish, what's worked for me for years. The hope is that they're led down the same path to conservation as I was. Folks looking to geolocate fishing spots are never going to catch the amount of fish I do. Talent > Potlicking

@LAFishBlog13 күн бұрын
Yes. Consider this reality: when you're a guide you don't own a business, *you own a job.* Maybe consider something that doesn't rely on nature behaving and has benefits, or something that's more passive. There's a lot of good books out. Read Michael Gerber. Or don't and learn it all the hard way.

If I have learned anything from watching you and the other trout fisherman on KZbin, it's that you have to throw and go until you find them, then keep casting to that spot until they move on then go find them again. Great information in this video, thank you for that. God bless and see you on the next one.
@LAFishBlog13 күн бұрын
Maybe that's what other guys do, but I use a process that's a little more exacting. Yes, at the end of the day you do have to cast a line to know for sure, but I promise you that I fish a lot less unproductive water to find 'em and, *above all*, don't rely on others to tell me where to go. Translated: I can fish without a smartphone. Consider that.
@Marsh-Mechanic15 күн бұрын
Left the other spot where your could have polished off your limit, to find another spot to catch your last 2 trout. I understand!! I would rather be by myself than someone casting inside my boat!! THE MARSH IS HUGE!! lol. Enjoyed the video man!
