Our second completion of this walk over the LAKE DISTRICT Mountains of PILLAR, SCOAT FELL, STEEPLE, RED PIKE (Wasdale) and YEWBARROW. This was our final day in the Lakes on our July 2021 trip where we see the Lake District Fells in all their glory in beautiful summer conditions.
A 9.5 Mile walk where PILLAR is the highest at 892 metres (2967 Feet) with a total ascent of 4800ft ( 1463 Metres). If you enjoy this, check out the first trip where we included the mighty KIRK FELL

Pillar has a special place in my heart. It's a great mountain which can be brutal. The views from the peak on a nice day knock your socks off. It's great to see people come from 350 miles away to take in its beauty. You are so welcome! Love having you here and making these cracking videos for us all to enjoy. The only surprising thing about the video was hearing southerners moan about how hot it is up north :-) Must have been a rare day. Keep 'em coming!

🤣🤣🤣☀️😫 man it was really hot going. Pillar is special to me as well due to it being one of the first Fells I ever ascended. Been up three times since and it never disappoints especially as I have always had great weather and enjoyed those wonderful views you describe. I appreciate you are happy for me to keep enjoying them 🤣 and the team appreciate you watching our antics and taking time out to comment. Cheers

Cracking video Graham. Weather looked superb, if not a bit too hot! Well done all, for doing all that in the heat! We did most of those fells at the end of June this year, so I know how tough it is. Cheers. Eddie.

That is a great walk, Haycock is a lovely fell and does not get the press it deserves. Thanks for watching the vid Mike.

Brilliant video Graham as always. Looks like a great walk. I was in the Lakes the same time as you shot this video and it was like walking in an oven!! Not surprised you skipped Yewbarrow.

Brilliant vid Graham. You certainly gave Bert a good workout that week on some fantastic walks. Loved that professional bit of editing when you were sitting on the chair, and the lyric ‘King for the day’ came up. Perfect timing😊 Enjoy next week back up there, hope the weather just a touch cooler for you. Atb👍🏻

Thanks Graham. Really enjoyed the video. The views were a joy, achieved by you at the expense of a very hot day. Well done to you all for completing such a serious undertaking (even if you didn’t climb Yewbarrow this time).

Thank you, Trevor, we appreciate your kind words, it was an extremely hot day, and we were getting sun burnt and dehydrated. It was an easy decision to avoid Yewbarrow as we would have perished on top 🤣 Thanks for watching and taking the time to comment.

Good to see you getting more great weather in the Lakes and leavening 'flat, boring, horrible Southern on Sea' lol. Superb views on Pillar and quite a drop down Wind Gap, don't know how Mary and Derek do it, both super fit. A lot of other people about despite the heat and the sun sure was shining on Red Pike. I think you made a dam sensible decision not to do Yewbarrow in that heat and I think I would have had more than my feet cooling off in the water! cheers Alan

Interesting comment about Ennerdale. Our ancient ancestors would probably have seen a mountain range forested, before sheep came along.

Yeah it's the unnatural nature of the trees that did not go down well with Wainwright and many many others. Sacrificed beautiful views and country for trees grown just for house building etc

@@FatBoysonTourHikingVideos just after Looking Stead instead of heading straight up to the summit of Pillar there is a path that turns right and looks like it heads down. It in fact cuts across Pilar pass an amazing Cairn called Robinson Cairn and to pillar rock. Its the route climbers take to get there and start their climb. From the base of the rock its a cracking scramble that brings you out at the summit of Pillar. Absolutely fantastic views and drops into Ennerdale the entire way. A must do.

Got you, I have done that on my first walk up to Pillar, May 2005. We wild camped in Ennerdale and did the majority of the route you describe from there. The early video of that walk is off poor quality and not comprehensive but you might recognise some of scenery kzbin.info/www/bejne/jme7cqGsetdoosU

@@FatBoysonTourHikingVideos that's the one. Must of missed that video. I have them on most afternoons while "working from home" to get my fix when I look up from the laptop. I'm slightly obsessed with the lakes as you can probably tell. Thanks for replying and again thanks for posting.
