What camera are you using on your chest mount ? Well done you two. Great video. It's on my list and I will go the same way 😊

Hi Tony, Thanks for watching. I use a GoPro Hero 10 with the GoPro 'Chesty' Performance chest mount. I have tried other non 'GoPro' products trying to get them cheaper but I've always been disappointed. GoPro stuff is more expensive but, to me, it's defiantly worth the extra cost. It's a great route but pick a nice day to do it.. the views are too good to miss.. Thanks again Matthew & Sue

Thank you for watching 👍🏻. I know, before we did the walk I watched a lot of KZbin videos on Sharp Edge and after them all I still wasn’t sure what to expect.. So we thought that we wouldn’t flower it up or make it worse than it was simply for more views.. Really pleased you enjoyed it 😉👍🏻 All the best Matthew & Sue

Great effort. At first I thought it was going to be quite windy, but it seemed to calm down a bit while you were on the ridge. Fantastic route. Great video. 😁👍

I have been over Sharp Edge 4 times and each tine I have been over it, I have been real nervous each time but you did pick a great day to do it. The 'granny path' runs out, in places so you may as well go up and over on the top for the full experience and good to see you did too! That gully up Foule Crag is always the way I have gone up too and always seems the best option and always something people forget about, as you say, it's not the easiest. Amazing sense of achievement and given it was your first time and by yourselves too, a real good effort. Totally agree with you on it being more difficult that Striding Edge but even so, there was a fatality on Striding Edge just this week, which goes to show, it only takes one slip or one trip..... On a clear day always amazing views from the summit and I remember taking my grandson up about 6 years ago, with the promise of a clear summit and you could not see your hand in front of you when we got there. I loved your honesty regarding on Sharp Edge, I remember me and my youngest son following 2 lads over who were bricking it, really nervous and one wanted to turn back, despite being hallway over and about 15 people behind me and my son. We eventually talked him over and up Foule Crag, which he did not want to do, yet the same lad was telling people in The White Horse afterwards, how easy it was and he didn't know what all the fuss was about - fair play he did look suitably red faced when he saw me and my son standing behind him at the bar lol! Great effort and a very enjoyable watch, especially as I have just had to cancel a trip to the lakes tomorrow with my oldest son, as I am feeling under the weather, cheers Alan

Eyup Alan, Thanks for watching again. Like you said I doubt you will ever loose that sense of trepidation going over Sharp Edge no matter how many times you do it.. I'd love to do it again, and, we would enjoy it better next time as we would know what to expect. And, yes, you do have a massive sense of achievement once you are over and in 'safe' territory. You must have been massively proud of your Grandson to be brave enough to conquer that at such an age, a very proud Grandad moment no doubt. I watched all your films of Sharp Edge which gave me huge inspiration especially the route you took back down to Scales Tarn for a quick dip at the end.. That just looked perfect!! And also, your comment on that same film, if I can recall it properly... 'Every man dies but not every man really lives' defiantly has stayed with me since... and how true! A very good friend of mine, big gym goer, absolutly sound lad, fitness fanatic saw my films and I inspired him to get out on the fells. He once told me of a very similar story. He organised a squad of very capable, fit, brave young blokes to take on Sharp Edge. He said, the biggest, toughest and hardest one of them all was crying like a baby going over the ridge and they all had to nurse hime over. It's a really strange thing, no matter how tough you think you are when you get in that environment it a completely different arena, and it's absolutely no good to anyone being a dead hero. Its such a shame for the chap we recently lost on Striding Edge, I believe the accident was at the Chimney... But as you say.. you only need just that one slip up and there is no mercy. Having said that we won't stop doing what we love and once those feelings of excitement, trepidation, adventure and achievement leave us it's probabaly time to stop.. which I'm pretty sure will never happen. I really do hope you are feeling better soon.. you're too strong of a man to be kept down too long.. 💪🏻 We need to see you up these fells agin and on your way to that 214th. Thanks again Alan for all your inspiration and entertainment. All the very best Matthew & Sue

@@crag_mavericks - thanks you very much for your kind words, which I appreciate and yes the day I took my grandson to Blencathra summit and we saw nothing was the last time he had been out with me lol. We did not do Sharp Edge on that day mind, I would never take him over, as he was only about 12 years old, so when we got to Scale tarn we took the route around Sharp Edge, longer but a lot more safe, cheers Alan

Brilliantly done you two. Don’t know if you’d ever see me going up there. Certainly not with Charlie anyway. We did Hall’s Fell Ridge a few months ago and that surprised me 😟

Hi Tony, it’s not too bad… there are just a couple of places where you need to concentrate… but definitely not a place for Charlie.. Halls Fell Ridge does look interesting as with the whole south face of Blencathra.. We’ve actually noted that one down to do another day. Thanks for watching 👍🏻👍🏻 And we have just discovered your channel too so I’ll be watching a few of them 😉👍🏻 All the best Matthew & Sue
