FYI... the poppies don't look like this every year. Literally only on the years when it rains a lot in California.. which is rare. Also, as soon as you pick the poppies they die... so please don't. & Please don't crush them by sitting on them & laying in them.

@Íbero Gallego they are state flowers as while as considered endangered. It is a federal crime to pick them. Which led to high fines and jail time. They don't grow anywhere else in the world and is being destroyed by urbanization or other flowers like lavender and mustard seeds. If notice you can see purple mix in. Which is not a good sign. By the way if you building your civilization on it naturally habitat dont complain that is growing where it is belong. It was there first not the road.

Scrum Thebum2 *Yes!!!* I’m a lifelong resident of Florida, & I refuse to share the name of my favorite beach. It still looks like it did when the Spanish arrived, with sand dunes & sea oats, excellent waves, & not a building or tourist in sight. Locals know about it. Some even go nude there. But most transplants & tourists are oblivious. I would like to keep it that way. Their ignorance is my bliss.

Part of the problem is the traffic flow in this city sucks. Even on a normal weekday you can be stuck in heavy traffic. There is only one main road and it circumnavigates the lake. That is it. Getting off the freeway and trying to get to the other side of the lake can take forever. So if you get there from the freeway or over the mountains to the west once in the city it will be non-stop traffic.

The only thing I disagree with Manos on, is his "residents aren't used to traffic" comment. That's the exact opposite, residents+commuters who utilize the 15 daily are more then used to traffic. We live in it. It just happens that the abnormal traffic on the weekend is just straining with the existing tolerance of traffic we have to put up with the rest of the week.

Zou zouhair thank you for supporting this ideology! I’ve been to these field three times this year, I live 8 minutes away, and have told countless people to not pick the flowers! People will rip them out of the ground by the roots in the hopes they can take them home.......sorry chief but they are very very seasonal and only grow on southwest facing slopes during very wet years for the most part, they will die in your garden and at the hands of someone who doesn’t understand what they are doing

The superbloom was cool to look at UNTIL I spent over 2 extra hours on jammed traffic on I 15 with no alternates ... Luckily I was headed to the skydive place there, ofcourse, not being able to jump at all! At least I wasn't headed to emergency or such. A drive that normally is 15 to 20 minutes (from Corona to Elsinore) was 2+ hours. Horrible.

@kaitourobin3206
@kaitourobin3206 5 жыл бұрын
@Bill P okay you both wrong and correct. The Spaniard (before mexcian move into the region) call it laguna Grande. But by the time Mexican ranchers move there new English speakers settlers started to call it el senor after the ranchers since they don't know Spanish well enough to call it Laguna Grande which just means big lake. Since the Mexican werent the orginal Spaniard who name it didn't care to correct them. Either way both name isn't very creative.

@Bill P i have when i went to Terra Cotta middle school library back in 2008. Where i went and read several books about it history. Also pg 71 books.google.com/books?id=N7gPAAAAIAAJ&pg=PA255#v=onepage&q&f=false and pg 118 books.google.com/books?id=9V1IAAAAMAAJ&pg=PA118#v=onepage&q&f=false Plus another source www.lake-elsinore.org/visitors/history/city-timeline Plus from the wiki "It was named Elsinore after the Danish city in Shakespeare's "Hamlet", which is now its sister city (Helsingør). Another source maintains Elsinore is a corruption of "el señor", Spanish for "the gentleman", because the city site had been owned by a don." Basically they are not sure if they actual came up with the name Elsinore out of thin air or they get idea to used Elsinore from Hamlet because people were saying el senor very badly and it sounded like Elsinore. It a he said she said satiation. Reason why Historians check with multiple sources when studying history.

Yeah I get that it’s a rare and beautiful occasion, but when I can’t get to my house because they close off two freeway exits, then it’s gone too far. What should be a 5 minute commute from my house to the freeway becomes a one hour ordeal, and five versa, on the weekends. Thanks CBS for giving it more, unwanted attention.
