FYI Jocassee Lake Tours will take your kayaks up to Wrights Creek waterfall and Thompson falls. Thanks for sharing our lil piece of paradise. 👍

Jocassee is heaven on earth IMO. The fish was a smallmouth bass.

OMG, I went to Jocassee last year to do this and had no idea that there was a day-use kayak ramp. I tried to use the main boat ramp, which was swamped. I ended up going to Lake Keowee instead. I think my weekend just got planned.

The day use ramp parking fills up pretty quick too so we go really early. The ramp on the left of the peninsula is where the boat-in campers park and paddle across the lake. If it is full go back to the fork in the road and take right fork to the other ramp. Good luck!

That day use ramp isn't very good. My kayak is too heavy to carry down a flight of stairs just to launch on sharp rocks. Any place is better than here. I'm there now and two thousand tourists on boats is a bit frightening. Can't believe I paid a hundred dollars to go kayaking here and can't even launch.

One of the worst state parks. Certainly the most expensive. Poorly designed campsites crappy overcrowded boat ramps and no decent places to launch a kayak

Make sure you do more research and you’ll have a much better experience next time

It is the most expensive, especially for camping! I wanted to do a week day camping trip with the family. Minimum 4 night stay at $60 a night. No thanks. Went to Oconee State Park grabbed a weekend for $50 total. The roads in the campground are awful. Besides swimming and the views this is a no frills state park. I do love going here and kayaking Jocassee is AMAZING!
