Good video, i dont get up there on lake Michigan as often as i would like, it cost me about 150 in gas every time. I have noticed that i see fish come up and look at my bait, on my sonar , and don,t get a bite, they just look and leave. Is that common, or is that just me as a fisherman not knowing what im doing. I just started salmon fishing 4 years ago, Im hooked i love it.

It's pretty common so don't get discouraged. Just change speeds, direction, and/or baits to see what will get them to fully commit

Which rod do you recommend for a leadcore setup?
@ChiCityYaker2 ай бұрын
I like the Okuma SST or Guide Select Pro rods for lead...the latter is a bit pricey so I'd say the SST is great value and very good performance. You can find all the gear I use right here: amazon.com/shop/chicityyaker

Great content as always. What screen do you use for the livescope? I believe you have the 106sv, how do you record your screen?

I picked up the new Ultra 2 which allow screen recording via active captain app now

My man, 50-70' deep from 530am till 730am then 120-140' deep from 8am till 530pm then 90-70' deep from 7pm-11pm. Run meat rigs and vegan rigs down 45ft-65ft and then kings are stupid. Seen 4 over 35lbs in the last 3 weeks. 1.9-3.2mph. North > south or south > north troll

Spot on with that. Same for us on our side. Lot of juvenile kings on our side now

Gotta ask what a vegan rig is? Artificial meat?
@leviburns893 ай бұрын
@Tyler-rm6pw Dreamweaver and Salmon Candy makes them. It's basically a meat rig, with a fly at the end. So 3 to 4 teaser flies, around the size of peanut flies so around 1.5 inches, spaced 8-12 inches apart, with a main fly sized around 3-4 inches at the end (12-16" from teasers) with a treble hook. Preferably I'd make my own with a siwash/octopus hook and a 3" stinger siwash. Similar to how the Jensen's Everglo flies were tied. The issue we've been having is, the kings are so big that they destroy the plastic meat rig head and pull it down to the treble hook, thus un-lodging it from the fish's mouth. We've had 4 fail this way in 2 weeks. Ideally, I'd like to see those plastic meat holding heads made out of cast aluminum or at least with a steel insert where the line runs through so it can't break free under stress. Nothing worse than fighting a monster for 45 minutes, for it to pop off right as you hit leader and then see the meat rig head pulled all the way down around the treble. Especially for $22.99 a pop for the meat rigs
