Here in Australia we had a bad drought for 5 years but now it hasn't stopped raining for 12months and we are flooding. Its just the natural cycle things will get better eventually
@DonAshcraft
@DonAshcraft 2 жыл бұрын
@@fatplumber3887 I saw that flooding in Australia! And the year before it was unprecedented fires! I hope you and your family are all okay. I live in Colorado. This is the only state in America where all water only flows out and none flows into the state. It doesn't come from rain it comes from snow. Lake Powell in the video is fed by the Colorado River and it's tributaries in Wyoming all from snowpack in the Rocky mountains. According to the Colorado Climate Center, Colorado endured five significant dry periods prior to the twenty-first century: 1893-1905, 1931-1941, 1951-1957, 1963-1965, and 1975-1978. Since the turn of the century, Colorado has experienced several years of severe drought. In fact, 2002, 2012, 2018, and 2020 were some of the driest on record. What we're going through now is unheard of in historical records. And most unfortunately Arizona Nevada California and all the other states that get Colorado water the legal allocation was made during one of the wettest period in history. Now there's a lot of legal fighting on who's *not going to get water. I climbed a lot of mountains in Colorado in the 1980s and 1990s. Many of the routes went up glaciers and annual snow fields that never melted. They're all gone now. All of them.

I have already thrashed one out board engine in the river around the dam hitting a sand bar. Don't ever want to do that again. @@stevedibiase728 With the flooding and road damage to Yellowstone and Southern Utah with two major National parks near them and the North Rim of the Grand Canyon in Arizona nearby. I think tourism will be pretty good this year even with the high fuel costs. Coming from Interstate 15 you have to go through Hurricane to get to any of those National parks. That is the reason I think Matt will be very busy... Also Mesquite Nevada is only a couple hours away and Las Vegas is only a few hours away. You can do pretty much 75 mph on the 15 except for the Virgin River Gorge which is about 30 miles long. I use to go to Vegas from basically Kanab Utah about one a month and it only took 4 hours to get there. Everything else like Bryce, Cedar Breaks, Zion, Lake Powell, Grand Canyon was at most a couple hours away.

Hey Matt, up here in Oregon, most of the lakes and resivors, are full up to tree line, no bathtub ring. When I drove up the Columbia Gorge 2 was ago, all dams had all spillway open. Yet, doesn't mean drought is over. Also, today, Friday, went to overland expo, in Redmond, Ore, wore Matt's t shirt, many people stopped me, asked if I ordered shirt. No, I drove down there, showed pics of Lizzie and I, Ed and I, as well as Skeeter? Bought merchandise then. Went to Fab Rats, not home, so on to Robby Laytons. Gave kudos to all of you. May be back e d of summer. Also, one booth, folks said they lived near Lizzie and spoke very highly of her. UTAHANS, great people. Thanks for all you do. I am so glad you sang 'Blinded by Light". Not because it was music to my ears but because in all my 64 years I heard wrapped up like a doosh. And I know I'm not the only one. Yes, I misspelled it.

I remember when Matt was answering questions about engines for I think the new tow truck, he answered a question about "you should put a Diesel in it" and he said that's not a good idea and explained why. This video shows how that's not a good idea because they are so heavy. That truck was sinking the whole time while pulling it out. Great job as always!

I thought it was funny when he said the big wrecker might need ballast because the front end might be too light. All i thought was "wouldn't be a problem if it was diesel" lmao

Matt and guys&gals the end of this video was amazing, amazing video all the way but loved the night time recovery in the sand, I felt like Matt was just relaxed and doing his thing, maybe it was the editing! Great video Morr!

So sad, I grew up going to Lake Powell once or twice a summer every single year. Some of my best memories are from Lake Powell and to see it shrinking more and more makes my heart sad. My parents went this summer and came across a boat that had been under water for who knows how long, the half of its nose was buried and the rest was sticking practically straight up. I guess people have found houseboats too, crazy.

I couldn’t go with her to the hospital cause I have a broken back.. and I had a fall the other day… well I’m on a heating pad hurting and can’t turn to my left.. but I do have spinal cord damage and 2 rods and 8 screws… so yeah tough times.. but your videos help a lot!

Everytime someone moans and groans about me pulling in reverse I refer them to this channel and Fab Rats. I get it’s harder on the front end, but in the same sense it takes load off the rear. I think people just like to sound as if they’re superior. Great video 👍🏼

Pro tip. If you have a truck. Use it for hauling stuff to the job site and towing your boat but keep it on the road.

5:45 when you were trying to pull him up the bank. The issue was more heigh disadvantage than it was pulling power or weight. You needed to be able to lift the truck upwards and then back, which of course will not be a problem once you get your wrecker going.
