I started to believe the 800lbs of trout is just food for the stripers. I had some luck with largemouth bass in the rocky bottoms with fake crawdads

Awesome! Thank you! Yes, Skinner is very nice to look at but catching fish makes it all the better. We did well at Boar Launch 2 in the cove a year or so back for catfish. Mackerel. I believe they already did their last catfish stock for the year though. Good times.

It's beautiful there, my kids and I haven't had a trout bite in a while but that's ok because the mountains are going to start up soon . Good times either way

This is unfortunately how southern Cali fishing is now. So many people camping and waiting the the tour stockings. Four days later those trout r fished out. It’s the shoulder to shoulder pandemic. They need to up the stock numbers with the amount of anglers there is now.

I was at diamond valley today , first time I didn't at least see a few fish, no one was catching from shore guy came from other side of lake and said he didn't see anything on that side either 😄 but it was really cold was snowing a bit in Beaumont on the way!! Gotta be fit for DVL lol

We were using three set ups. Free line: no weight with the treble hook and powerbait at the end. Carolina rig: small egg sinker 1/4-1/8 ounce, small swivel, 2 feet leader to treble hook size 12. Split shot: small split shot about 2 feet from the treble hook. Always a good time!

Some folks have success with small hooks but you have to put less powerbait.

You can fish on stock day there I've been. The local jiggers are poachers and fish off the dock then when park rangers come they stop when they leave they go back it's pretty sad . It's a slotter shame on them

They say they stock 800lbs but when I went it looked more like 200-300lbs, u gotta go on stock day or day after for a chance unfortunately, they just become striper food
