Awesome job, should help those looking to get on some fish. Sure looked like a giant oyster and nice catch with the Muskie!

@@live2fishofficial what lures do you throw on your medium heavy baitcasters?
@live2fishofficial9 ай бұрын
@@OJfishigan for me, rule of thumb is if it was treble hooks, medium rod. Everything else is MH. There are some exceptions at times.
@OJfishigan9 ай бұрын
@@live2fishofficial thanks! I throw swimbaits on my baitcaster but i have to use a heavier swim bait jig. If i use too light i cant cast it far
@live2fishofficial9 ай бұрын
@@OJfishigan segmented swimbaits are one that I might use a MH if the weight is there to support it. For swimbait jigheads, a MH is a must for me. Jerkbaits are another lure I alternate between medium and MH.

Beautiful Musky! Thanks for the report. I’ll be in the New Baltimore area the week after Mother’s Day. Any advice for shore bound fishing, Lures, Techniques, Locations?
@live2fishofficial9 ай бұрын
Thank you! Shore bound fishing around New Baltimore is rather limited unfortunately due to the Brandenburg Park pier rebuild. You can still fish Ruedisale Park, Downtown New Baltimore and the shoreline at Brandenburg. Take a look at my playlists for shoreline fishing and you’ll see a plethora of information for the area on bait tips and techniques. Don’t rule out the small drive to Harsens Island for some great opportunities from shore as well!

Thanks for the update ! That clam was huge! Nice musky too Joe! Great smallies! Do you think it's possible to catch smallies from the bank/shore at all? Or is that more of a largemouth thing?
@live2fishofficial9 ай бұрын
Thanks Jared! For years the first smallmouth of the year have ALWAYS been caught from shore for me. This is the first year I haven’t targeted them from shore. I’ve even caught them from shore in areas that traditionally don’t have them coming in until later in the year, but when these LSC smallies transition, they roam all over the place and can often be caught up shallow along the shoreline. Thanks for checking it out!

unionid or freshwater mussel. Looks like a Threeridge so pretty rare even though they're all getting rare due to zebra mussels and some other invasive mussels.

It’s a fresh water clam. Not an oyster, so no pearl 😊
