When you drop shot for trout try using 7 foot or 76 lite or ultra light you can weave them out of the rocks better and can pick up more slack faster so give it a try

Trout are candy bars for bass. I like fishing Cheoah for trout. Was that Bear lake?

always get your hands wet before handling a trout and any fish really. There has been some pushback against this idea in recent years, but ultimately it cannot hurt. As an angler, I'm all in favor of any practice that will reduce potential mortality to the trout I love to catch and release.

The trout are stocked in there by tax payer dollars and are meant for us to keep and eat. 7 each any size. Most of the released fish end up dying. I've fished in that lake for many years.
