Lake Winfield Scott - Chattahoochee National Forest - Day 1

Yoly and I head up to our local mountains for a couple days to try and catch some of the fall colors. We hit it perfectly !

Good day our friends! It was wonderful to finally be able to sit back and just enjoy your video! Wow, that scenery was spectacular and the colors of the leaves so beautiful. Sorry about Mr. Zoomie. (Rip.) 😌 You guys do such a great job of filming and we are able to see so much. We enjoy your sense of humor and I even learned I can use spices in the pan before placing the fish burger. Awesome! We so hope you guys stay safe and now a new President, too! We have missed our travel this year so it is nice to be able to your posts. Thanks so much. We look forward to part 2 soon. Good morning to you also Shelley :-) Glad that you're enjoying our travels even though they aren't very far from our house. I was quite disappointed in losing Mr. Zoomie, mostly because I felt like such an idiot. But then a day or so later I remembered that we had insured him and our insurance paid our claim in short order. We have already replaced Mr. Zoomie with Bebop. Mr. Zoomie was 10 year old technology and by comparison, Bebop is light years ahead in every respect. I love flying him and am in the process at the moment of making a new video to introduce him to everyone. Stay tuned for some awesome views in the future :-)

We actually have an inflatable kayak .... owned it for about 7 years, used it once ! I thought about bringing it but frankly all the conditions have to be perfect in order to make the hassle of setting it up and then packing it away in the bag to be worthwhile. It wasn't really a hot day, nor one that would make you want to get into the icy cold water necessarily. There's a video on the channel from the trip we took down river in Florida with it :-)

Hi Morten .... wow, you sure are quick ! I was still watching it for the first time when your comment came in :-) Once again, thank you for your very kind words. Yes it was sad to lose Mr. Zoomie but he has already been replaced with Bebop, a much more tech savy drone with a better camera, intelligent flight modes and obstacle avoidance features. I'll be putting up a video introducing Bebop as soon as I finish the Day 2 episode from this trip :-)

I actually lost our drone 2 days later in the trees surrounding the lake. We've replaced it with a much better one and the new footage we're getting is awesome. Currently editing a couple videos from Desoto Falls from a couple weeks ago ... they'll have some good aerial shots as well :-)

Yes, like I mentioned in the video, we had pulled into the pull-thru and I didn't like the direction of the slant so I just pulled out, turned around and came in from the other direction. You certainly wouldn't be doing that with a fiver :-)

I hope to be way down yonder on the Chattahoochee too someday. We have Deception Pass State Park where the Conservation Corps did some nice stonework buildings. I have lots of pictures but no video.

Yes, the CCC did a lot of great back breaking work all over the country that still exists to this day for our benefit. We can't fly a drone in State Parks here so Deception Pass SP may be off limits in that regard. We stopped there on our tour of the PNW as we headed East from the Olympic NF across North Cascades National Park but we didn't stay.
