You have the best relationship with your father. It is always a pleasure when you include him in your videos. Also, it is so refreshing watching someone try something new (here, fried fish roe) and embrace the experience. All too often fishing youtubers fry fish (or just about any wild game) with Frank's Red Hot and think they are being adventurous. I guess I just like that you, LFG, are so open minded.

This is old school, here in Ozarks, back when we were kids Dad always fried the eggs or roe, bluegill were the best! Along with back tailfin, taterchip!

I’m also from the ozarks and I’ve never heard of fried roe until my buddy fried some channel cat eggs after we got into a mess of catfish on spring river. I couldn’t believe how good they were.

I grew up eating the eggs alongside the fillets from the fish i catch to this day! Almost my favorite part! We’d eat them from bluegill, crappie, and the biggest are the white bass eggs

I am a fisherman/hunter every fish that has it i love them roe of the fish i actually choose those over the fillet but nice catch on then mama crappie but this is i have to pass it up on fishing a little since I got 3 waterfowl Lab retriever and I am learning and doing self training.

I grew up eating roe and I agree with LFD and his soft hush puppy description is the best I’ve heard. LFG is on the right track with dipping them in hot sauce

Fried sunfish eggs are also a treat. So is trout roe, but in that case I recommend spilling the eggs out of the sac, salting and chilling, and eating raw like any other caviar. Delicious!

I grew up eating crappie eggs. Loved them. My grandma would coat them in corn meal, and deep fry them up in a cast iron skillet, just like the filets. Haven't had any in many a years though

Went out on Ray Bob with a guide earlier this week and oh boy I had no clue what I was doing for the past 2 years. Livescope is a good tool to use to learn about how different species react to different presentations but I think I still prefer going fishing rather than what my dad called meat catching. Good to mix it up for sure

I feel like Live Scope to the fishing world is what Social Media is to the world. It’s the poison that will slowly kill it. It will never be the same the more people have access and the rules and refs on gamefish will change drastically. Not everyone is ethical in the harvesting of game; enough that the numbers will sustain. They will deplete much faster now. I guess I just feel like it’s one of those things where just because we can doesn’t necessarily mean we should. Just my 2 cents. Awesome video by the way.

Can crappie be orange or yellow? Anyway I caught some fish from momma’s little plastic water fountain pond and got that row out. I cooked them up the same way you did but I either did something wrong or you like odd stuff Mr @lakeforkguy. Because I was about halfway through the second one when my tummy decided to empty using both doors. While I was trying to clean up, momma came home and boy was she pissed. She kept screaming “you killed my koi” I tried telling her it’s called crappie but that seemed to anger her more. Now I have to sleep in the shed and my tummy is still hurting.

each crappie female lays 40,000 eggs per spawning and crappie can spawn twice a year. Without predatory fish crappie will completely take over an eco system. My families farm pond got decimated by large crappie population where now we keep every crappie we catch from 7" and up. Our problem is we havent had large crappie for a long time
