Big shout to @UnCommonCents-865 for the sweet jam!!!
Is there something specific about the Jazz that LeBron is scared of?
The Lakers and Jazz have met 3 times this season, LeBron has only played in the game that was part of the in-season tournament. That is self-explanatory since he cares about himself above all else and was after any BS accolades to add to his resume, like being In-Season Tournament MVP (which he didn’t deserve).
The game that LeBron did play was played in LA. Is LeBron afraid of Utah fans? Sorry, but there are more stadiums than just Utah that people don’t like LeBron.
Let’s address the free throws. Yes, the free throw count once again grossly favored the Lakers, but this is no different than any other game. So while it may be unfair, it doesn’t make this a special situation. When the Lakers looked great against the Celtics with LeBron sitting out many people said the Lakers won because of the free throws. The free throws may be the difference in winning a game and the free throws may favor the Lakers, but again, that’s every game. So you should consider the playing field leveled and that we still need to look at why the Lakers as a team suddenly pass the eye test when LeBron isn’t playing.
Looking at the leaderboard we see many things.
First, note that 13 games, 26 teams, played last night. Even then, multiple players on the Lakers showed up in the leader boards.
Anthony Davis is in three categories, four if you count fantasy points, but I don’t count it. AD is usually in the blocks category as well, which would have given him a legit four categories, but not this night. He did have two blocks, but that wasn’t enough to make the list on this night. So AD is in top five in rebounds and points and free throws. You have another Laker making the top five in two categories, Hachimura in points and three pointers. You also had D Lo leading all players in the assist category with 17. 17! It’s yet another reminder of what these players are capable of if LeBron isn’t in their way. Also look at the shooting percentage. Rui’s 36 came on 68% shooting, 75% from the field. AD’s 37 came on 52% shooting, which is what LeBron can get on a good night when 90% of his shots are uncontested layups. Reaves 69% DinWiddie 67% DLo 50% Prince 50% Hayes and Castleton 100% I dread the playoffs because this is an absolutely loaded team in terms of depth, skill, and size. Add to that the refs and they will be hard to beat in a 7 game series. And LeBron will be there to gobble up layups for the media to show on the highlight reels. He will get his points, but never in the manner that his teammates just showed they are capable of getting points. LeBron’s pursuit of his stats is the only reason the Lakers don’t have a better record right now.
Let’s move to LeMedia, who absolutely refuse to even acknowledge the possibility that the Lakers success when LeBron isn’t playing has something to do with LeBron not playing. If you want to present an argument for why it isn’t true, that’s one thing. But these people are acting like it’s not even a real thing. Just ignore it and hopefully no one else will talk about it.
What did the Lakers give up for DinWiddie? I am looking at their roster and all they did was add another piece.
Lastly I saw on other channels the fanboys making excuses. Why can’t a guy who has played for 20 plus years take some nights off. Well, he can. If you stop calling him iron man. If you stop calling him the greatest. If you stop claiming he’s still top 5 if not number 1 in the NBA. If you ignore that he played against the 8 and 46 Pistons but skipped the 26 and 29 Jazz. If you ignore that he is already getting plenty of rest between games (and during games). If you ignore that MJ played more games at a higher level with less advantages at age 40! If you acknowledge that this is a charity event being held for LeBron and these are all little more than exhibition games, OK. If you acknowledge that you make excuses for a guy who fails to deliver rather than it being a case of a player who truly is defying father time. And this acceptance of excuses by the media, this embrace of always providing a way out rather than being held accountable, has leaked out into the behavior of kids today. They say things today that you would have been chased out of the park for back in the day. One guy the other day, about 25 years old, while my team was whipping his, starting shouting, “You’re lucky this isn’t three years ago, we’d be winning.” That’s so weird. That’s so embarrassing. Like you should get beaten up for saying things that dumb. In fact that’s how people learned to not act like little cunts, there were consequences for it. Now people embarrass themselves constantly because it’s acceptable behavior. It’s not 3 years ago it’s now. Be in the now and own the situation that you are not good enough. It’s funny to be my age and hear that crap
