Nothing lakers related but it can’t be emphasized enough how incredibly talented you are Trevor in the podcasting space and with presenting in general. So often I’ll put these videos on while I’m doing something else, and you are able to keep such a steady stream of dialogue going with hardly any hiccups, any pauses, anything of that sort. I’ve made videos before too and I know how hard that is, let alone without having a co-star to help bridge the pauses. Hats off to you Trev, keep up the amazing work!

I'm looking forward to more cutting, less stagnant offense and ball watching. More rebounds, so less pressure on one and done cold 3's with hope for 2nd attempt.Wouldn't be surprised if it has a positive effect on their 3p%. Though I'm a bit worried about defending Murray, Fox and Morant or if going for more rebounds will cause more wear, tear and injuries.

Does anyone else remember when Max locked up Donovan Mitchell on the last two possessions against the Cavs last season and made him miss both shots? And Darvin still put DLO and Austin on Jamal Murray in the playoffs. Max is probably the best two-way player on our team apart from AD and I can't imagine how frustrated he must feel sitting on the bench knowing he's better than the people on the court apart from Lebron and AD. Age does not reflect maturity and Max is both skilled and mature enough to play real minutes as a 6th or 7th man on our roster.

I understand why hamm had his philosophy..this was because we were undersized. AD was our only real rebounder and defender at the glass last yr. If he goes for the offensive rebound and he's outta position, they opponent will easily score in transition. We were undersized at the pf spot and sometimes at sf spot last yr as well esp against denver. 6ft10 Mpjas sf vs rui, 6ft10 aaron gordon at pf vs lebron. Jokic is already taller than AD. There's no way we should hv been going down to the wire w that team. They should have beaten the breaks off of us by 20 each game. We were too small. All hamm.had to do was play bigger. Ar 15 6ft5 vs kcp 6ft5 6ft 7 Max christie vs 6ft4 jamal 6ft9 Vando or c.wood vs 6ft10 mpj 6ft8 lebron vs 6ft10 aaron AD vs jokic.

People made fun of Jim Buss for teams drafted players the same way fans in a bar would. Pelinka does exactly that- year after year they rearrange the roster and leave gaping holes thAt could be filled by players the Lakers gave away for peanuts or just let walk.

1-Way Offensive Players that Score 15-20 Points (D’Lo/AR) are currently Bench Players making $10-$17 Mill. D’Lo is not gone change His Game in His 10th Year and AR has 1-2 more Years to become a 20+ Scorer or a Better Defender before He becomes a 6th Man. The only 1-Way Offensive Players that Start are those that score 25+ a Game bcuz They are So Lethal on Offense (Steph/Trae/Dame/Luka/Kyrie/Ja/etc.)

I think its fair to mention that turnovers and age or lack of quickness adds to transition points against us. Every time we miss a basket or turn the ball over our opponents are running on us and our older players can't keep up. To me JJ has to not only put guys in position to get off good shots but also put guys in the right position to get rebounds. We need someone who can identify the angle of the shot and anticipate where that ball will bounce off the rim. Offensive rebounds lead to extra possessions and more scoring opportunities. I also believe that slowing down our half court offense and focusing on scoring at a higher percentage from our half court offense will limit turnovers and also lower our opponents points in transition.

Pay attn to the segment on O Rebs people THAT is the number ONE reason for losses these last 2 years..and it's not even close
@peteranders6893
@peteranders6893 Ай бұрын
If you have 0 perimeter defense you can't also have 0 transition defense, so the decision was made not to chase misses. Of course that is a reason for losses. Rebounds have been one of the best W/L predictors forever. But if you think you'll just add another tall person and as a result grab a bunch of offensive rebounds, you are wrong. It's not that simple. You add a big that can't shoot, you now got 2 bigs in the middle. That will draw two big defenders. That will destroy spacing and the opportunity to get to the rim. Therefore you'll have a lot of hero ball late shot clock threes. We already know it. DeAndre Jordan and Andre Drummond both started games for LA. It clogged the paint on offense. It let to a static Lebron watching offense. It hurt fluidity and shooting percentages. Defensively it leads to more room and easy targets for switch hunting. It affects rebounds much less than you think it will.

I believe Our Current Team is a 5/6 Seed after MIN/OKC/DAL/DEN and possibly SAC if We can’t beat Them. Ideally, We start Gabe/AR and bring D’Lo/MaxC off the Bench bcuz We have to offset AR’s & D’Lo’s Subpar Defense. If D’Lo embraces a 6th Man Role, We could keep/sign Him to a $13ish Mill a Year Extension for 25/26 & 26/27. If He doesn’t, He will be Traded by the Trade Deadline and I think Our best Trade Partner is still BKNY!!!

*They are gonna make a DLo move. Just don't see how they make it to the All-Star break and are a Top5 team in the West, and they don't make a move. If and when that trade is made, it might just put this Lakers team over the other West teams. Ppl just don't understand how much Vando and Gabe missing last year mattered. Then at the time they don't have Reddish who replaced Vando and Gabe. Also JJ Reddick will utilize C.Wood to his fullest. And Wood has had multiple seasons with 20+ppg. Just saying. Now add the #1 scorer in college last year to a healthy Lakers team, with a real coach who knows how to play Wood 24mins and Max 24mins etc etc*

I love this roster and i think it is completely underrated and poorly coached. First of all...having LeBron and AD should be good enough to get into the post season. Having a guy like D.Russ as the third option should make this team a top 5 seed. That leaves a need for the right role players. There is a need for a dirty work in your face defender like Vanderbilt. There is a need for a secondary big man who can help AD in the paint like a healthy and motivated C.Wood. After that you will need guys like AR, Cam Reddish and Rui to make shots.
@pinoykayaker

We had high expectations with walton, who had asst coaching experience and what happened. He set negative records then. JJ Reddick scares me. If we have a slower start than last year, then we're going to be 8-10 again in standings.

I think our defensive scheme has been a complete failure ever since Frank Vogal's first season. Personally, i think we should run a defensive scheme similar to that of Phil Jackson's in 2010. We should put guys in a lock down man to man zone position that can clog passing lanes as well as challenge jumpers. We should make opponents choose between living with contested shots or trying to beat AD in the paint. However, i do think the only way that this works is if C.Wood comes back healthy and motivated before Christmas. As this roster is built currently, we have the perimeter players to pull it off...we just need a backup rim protector/rebounder in the paint.
@peteranders6893
@peteranders6893 Ай бұрын
We had the third worst perimeter defense in the entire NBA, then lost Dinwiddie and added Knecht. Teams gladly accept the shooting challenge and have all last year some setting franchise 3PM records. There is not one wing on this roster besides a still green Max Christie.
