Had they not already traded D-Lo, I would say that Jimmy Butler should be the priority over anyone else. But I think now it would cost too much as far as depth (or what little there is). Speaking strictly on court outside of salaries though. Jimmy is about as close to the ideal “3rd star” as it gets for Bron/AD. He could take over games occasionally and relieve a ton of pressure for the other two. He’d also be reliable to be a primary defender (along with DFS). The only drawback would of course be injury concerns and his lack of consistent 3pt shooting but it’s not as if he’s terrible from beyond the arc, so I could live with it.

Austin Reaves is 10000000% better than Lavine. Not only does Lavine have a negative career plus/minus, but he’s never had a single season with a positive plus/minus. He’s never won a playoff game, and his career shooting percentage in the playoffs is 40%. AR has a better ast/turnover ratio and is a far superior playmaker. The only thing Lavine does better is shoot the 3, but we all know once you put on a Laker jersey, your 3 point percentage falls precipitously. Lavine’s contract is also insanely terrible and most likely the worst contract in the league.

One thing I promise you, 1 million, billion, trillion percent chance is that the Lakers can never come anywhere near a championship without a player like Butler. If you think so, you're delusional. You're basically someone that's overdosing on weed/morphine and living in a land of fairytales. Just use your brain. Lebron is 40, AD doesn't have the motor and he doesn't handle the rock so he can't carry playoff games. Jimmy is a closer, picture perfect playoff performer.
