Lakers unveil Kobe Bryant statue

The first of three Kobe Bryant statues at Crypto.com Arena was unveiled Thursday, depicting the Lakers legend celebrating after scoring 81 points in a game in 2006. Bryant's statue joins those of Shaquille O'Neal, Magic Johnson, Kareem Abdul-Jabbar, Elgin Baylor, Jerry West and Chick Hearn in the courtyard outside Crypto.com Arena.

As much as Kobe loved his fans, I'm sure he's saying a statue is not appropriate. Any man who is a man, would not want a state of himself built to elevate his stature when man lives and dies while his creator lives forever.

But it honors the impact that he left by the world the same as MLK. Not making any comparison. A man is praised for his talent that changes the world whether it be entertainment or peace. Isn’t that why we all live to leave something behind to be remembered to let people know we were here. Extraordinarily men.
