I am obsessed with this hat!!! I love it! I tried this last night and it wasn’t looking right. I had a 6 weight yarn but not the wool ease. So I’m gonna get that and try again! I’ve only been crocheting for a few months so Im sure it’s just my inexperience. But I’ll keep at it! Thank you for showing us this beautiful pattern!

Such a gorgeous pattern. It will be awhile before “it gets to be my second nature.” I’ll have to watch the video one stitch at a time making a hat, and I can’t wait! Thanks!

This is so beautiful. I made it last night. I'm fairly new to crochet so it took a little longer than usual I suspect. It's a bit big. I'm still not where I need to be with my gauge .

I can’t tell you how many times I would be following along and pull through and you would have 3 loops and I 2! This is hard to do. And I can’t figure out why!? I think maybe how the string is in front? Idk Thanks for uploading, I guess the smart people got it. 😭

I have yarn size 5 (100g - 140m) and hook 5.5 mm. Could I work with two strands for this pattern?
@angelageiseman91042 жыл бұрын
I had some size 5 yarn I wanted to use for this hat. I made it for charity donation so the size of hat was not critical. I used size K hook. I found that you have to make a lot more stitches on the starting chain row. Make sure you make it as long as the hat length and as many rows as it takes to make circumference measurement. To test this pattern I made a small size. I used Lion brand Baby's First yarn. One skein is 3.5 oz. 120 yd. For a larger hat I suggest you buy to skeins of this size.

Why do you work into the back bar of the herringbone stitch on the second row?

Do you have a video that shows how to adjust patterns if using different yarns? I want to try this pattern but don’t have any bulky yarns. Thanks
@mhayes85803 жыл бұрын
With it being such a simple pattern, really you’d just want to decide how tall you want the hat the. Keep making rows until it’s wide enough to fit on the head your making it for.

It’s a nice stitch pattern, but these days I don’t have the patience anymore
@jessicamorris94242 жыл бұрын
I love the pattern but your written patterns did not work. I followed for a kid size using the same yarn and I tried 3 different sizes of hooks and tensions and is no way the written pattern would fit a kids head. I’ll need to use at least 1 more skein to complete the pattern which will require many more rows.

Has anyone figured out how to sew it together at the end without the weird gap in the pattern?
@angelageiseman91042 жыл бұрын
I am working on this same issue. I first tried pulling the stitches really tight, but wasn't satisfied with the outcome. My solution right now is to have hat right side out, using a stand of yarn and a tapestry needle make a stitch by putting needle through the stitch on the beginning row and under the stitch on the ending row. In other words 1 strand on first row an under 2 strands on last row. I hope this is clear enough and helpful. I will probably make this hat again and will watch for any suggestions for this issue.
